TTA – Racing Elite League
TTA – Racing Elite League was a Swedish Touring Car Championship started in 2012, founded by four of the biggest teams in Swedish Touring Car racing; Polestar Racing, Flash Engineering, WestCoast Racing and Brovallen Design in 2011. TTA works with the Swedish Automobile Sports Federation and the race car is developed by the French motorsport company Solution-F. The car is a silhouette, where by the chassis and powertrain are standardized and custom-built for racing and where the body is molded from composite material to mimic a normal car. TTA has bought the Swedish Racing League and renamed it to the ''TTA – Elitserien i Racing'' (TTA – Racing Elite League). Latest season The first season will consist of an eight round competition. A silhouette racing car is a race car which, although bearing a superficial resemblance to a production model, differs mechanically in fundamental ways. The purpose of silhouette cars is to provide a manufacturer with a tangible link to their consumer product offerings so as to derive maximum marketing benefit from their investment in the sport. They also provide spectators with familiar, identifiable car models. Construction Silhouette cars often employ radically different chassis construction techniques, such as tubular space frames or carbon-fibre tubs in place of regular monocoques, and many also have completely different drivetrain configurations than their road-going counterparts. The body shells themselves are generally made of lightweight materials such as fibreglass or carbon fibre, and often, few parts (or none at all) are shared between the race and road versions of the cars. Karlskoga Motorstadion, also known as Gelleråsen Arena, is the oldest permanent motorsport race track in Sweden. The circuit is located north of Karlskoga. The layout is such that the whole track can be seen from all spectator areas. It is currently authorised for European Championship rounds of road racing and Swedish Touring Car Championship events. TV10 (''TV tio'') is a television channel owned by Viaplay Group broadcasting to Sweden. It specializes in sports and documentaries. The channel started broadcasting on 7 September 2010. Viasat (Nordic Television Service)
Viasat was a satellite and pay television brand, co-owned by the Swedish media group Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) in the Nordic countries, Antenna Group in Hungary, and by Viasat World internationally. Founded in Sweden in 1991, Viasat has previously been owned by Modern Times Group. The channels of both companies were broadcast from London. The Göteborg City Race was a temporary motor racing circuit in Gothenburg, Sweden. The circuit was located in the city centre on part of docklands called Frihamnspiren, which was usually used as a concert venue. The spectator capacity for the venue was 30,000. Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition with heavily modified road-going cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. Flash Engineering is a Swedish motorsport team based in Karlstad founded and owned by Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) winner Jan "Flash" Nilsson. The most recent time the team won the STCC-title was in 2008 with driver Richard Göransson.
