TRV$DJAM Albums
TRV$DJAM was a collaboration project between Travis Barker of Blink-182 and Adam Goldstein, a.k.a. DJ AM. They performed their first show on June 25, 2008 at the Roxy and released a mix tape online in August 2008 titled ''Fix Your Face''. In June 2009, they released a second mix tape titled ''Fix Your Face Vol. 2 (Coachella' 09)''. Hours after performing for thousands of college students on September 19, 2008 in Columbia, South Carolina, Barker and DJ AM were critically injured in a Learjet crash that killed four people. The artists' collaboration project is now over after their two released mixtapes, due to the death of Goldstein on August 28, 2009 at his apartment in New York City. Travis Barker
Travis Landon Barker (born November 14, 1975) is an American musician who serves as the drummer for the rock band Blink-182. He has also performed as a frequent collaborator with hip hop artists, is a member of the rap rock group Transplants, cofounded the rock band +44, and joined Box Car Racer, Antemasque and Goldfinger. Barker was a frequent collaborator with the late DJ AM, and together they formed TRV$DJAM. Due to his fame, ''Rolling Stone'' referred to him as "punk's first superstar drummer" as well as one of the 100 greatest drummers of all time. Born in Fontana, California, Barker began drumming at an early age. 2008 South Carolina Learjet 60 Crash
On the night of September 19, 2008, a Learjet 60 business jet (registration operating for Global Exec Aviation crashed during take-off from Columbia Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina. Four of the six people on board died in the crash. The survivors, musician Travis Barker and disc jockey Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, were critically injured. The jet had been due to fly Barker, Goldstein, and their entourage to Van Nuys, California, after their TRV$DJAM band's performance at a concert in Five Points. Aircraft and crew The aircraft involved was a Learjet 60 that had first flown in 2006, receiving its airworthiness certificate on December 14. It was powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW305A turbofan engines and had 108.5 flight hours with 123 take off and landing cycles. DJ AM
Adam Michael Goldstein (March 30, 1973 – August 28, 2009), known professionally as DJ AM, was an American disc jockey (DJ). Born in Philadelphia, Goldstein became interested in deejaying as a child after watching Herbie Hancock perform his 1983 single " Rockit". Goldstein developed a drug addiction as a teenager and was sent to the controversial rehabilitation center Straight, Incorporated. After he left the center, his drug problems became worse; he was addicted to crack cocaine for several years in his early twenties. After he attempted suicide in 1997, Goldstein became sober and later sponsored other addicts through Alcoholics Anonymous. Goldstein began deejaying in clubs in Los Angeles and joined the band Crazy Town in 1999. He left the group in 2001 and focused on a career as a solo DJ.
