TNGHT
TNGHT is a musical duo consisting of Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke and Canadian producer Lunice, formed in 2011. The duo released their self-titled debut EP to positive reviews in 2012. They announced an indefinite hiatus in late 2013, until their return in September 2019. Biography Hudson Mohawke (Ross Birchard) and Lunice (Lunice Fermin Pierre II) originally met in 2008, during the first LuckyMe Records tour of North America, when Mohawke performed at the Pop Montreal festival and Lunice played support. ''TNGHT'' is the self-titled debut extended play of the duo TNGHT, the collaboration of producers Hudson Mohawke and Lunice. Recorded in a London studio in a couple of nights, it was released on the labels Warp and LuckyMe on July 23, 2012. ''TNGHT'' received critical acclaim. Hudson Mohawke
Ross Matthew Birchard (born 11 February 1986), better known by the stage name Hudson Mohawke, is a Scottish-American producer, composer, and DJ from Glasgow. He is known for his influential work in 21st century hip-hop and electronic music. A founding member of the UK label collective LuckyMe, his fractured, colorful take on hip-hop made him a leading figure in the late-2000s wonky scene. He released his debut album ''Butter'' in 2009 on Warp Records. He has followed with the solo albums ''Lantern'' (2015) and '' Cry Sugar'' (2022), both on Warp. Lunice
Lunice Fermin Pierre II (born May 15, 1988), better known by his stage name Lunice, is a Canadian record producer and DJ from Montreal. He is one half of the duo TNGHT along with Hudson Mohawke. Biography Lunice is the son of a Filipino mother and a Haitian father. Lunice started as a b-boy, dancing competitively for the 701 Squad. In the early 2000s, he was inspired to make his own music after hearing how producer 9th Wonder constructed beats on the computer program Fruity Loops. In 2007, Lunice played his first gig at Hovatron's monthly Bass Culture in Montréal, where he met Sixtoo, and was invited to perform at the Megasoid parties. He has been a part of the Turbo Crunk crew ever since. In 2008, Lunice released a video for Lazersword's "Gucci Sweatshirt". "Blood on the Leaves" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Kanye West from his sixth studio album ''Yeezus'' (2013). In the song West presents his thoughts on how fame can cause the destruction of relationships, while making comparisons of contemporary times to the lynching of African Americans in the United States during the pre-civil rights era. ''Duality'' (stylized as ''DU∆LITY'') is the debut mixtape from Captain Murphy, the animated rapper alter-ego of experimental musician Flying Lotus. It was initially released as a 34-minute short film featuring songs performed by Murphy as well as archived cult footage (including footage involving Heaven's Gate co-founder Marshall Applewhite), pornography, cartoons and 1980s films.
