TMU Bold
TMU Bold (known as the Ryerson Rams prior to August 2022) are the varsity athletic teams that represent Toronto Metropolitan University (previously known as Ryerson University) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Toronto Metropolitan University operates 11 men's and women's varsity teams that compete provincially as part of Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and nationally as part of U Sports. 2017 U Sports Men's Basketball Championship
The 2017 U Sports Men's Final 8 Basketball Tournament was held March 9–12, 2017 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was hosted by Dalhousie University at the Scotiabank Centre, the first time since 1987 that Dalhousie hosted the tournament. The Carleton Ravens won their seventh straight title, their 13th in 15 years, this time over the Ryerson Rams, who came into the tournament ranked number one in the country. The Dalhousie Tigers took their first ever bronze medal by defeating the McGill Redmen. Carleton extended its record number of men's national basketball championships, more than any top division college in Canada or the United States. The 2017 U Sports Women's Volleyball Championship was held March 17–19, 2017, in Toronto, Ontario, to determine a national champion for the 2016–17 U Sports women's volleyball season. U Sports Women's Volleyball
U Sports women's volleyball is the highest level of amateur play of indoor volleyball in Canada and operates under the auspices of U Sports (formerly Canadian Interuniversity Sport). 41 teams from Canadian universities are divided into four athletic conferences, drawing from the four regional associations of U Sports: Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CW), Ontario University Athletics (OUA), Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), and Atlantic University Sport (AUS). Lisa Haley
Lisa Haley (, previously MacDonald; born 28 June 1973) is a Canadian ice hockey coach, currently serving as head coach of the Ryerson Rams women's ice hockey team and the Hungarian women's national team. She is an assistant coach for the Toronto Six of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). In 2021, she was also named the senior vice president of hockey operations for the NWHL. Originally from Westville, Nova Scotia in Pictou County, among her achievements as a coach, she was part of the coaching staff for the Canadian national women's team that won the gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games. During the 2015–16 season, she served as the head coach for the Canada women's national under-18 ice hockey team, capturing a silver medal at the 2016 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship. U Sports women's ice hockey is the highest level of play of women's ice hockey at the university level under the auspices of U Sports, Canada's governing body for university sports. Women's ice hockey has been played in U Sports since the 1997-98 season, when the governing body was known as the Canadian Interuniversity Athletics Union, following a long stint of teams only competing in the Ontario University Athletics, OUA. There are 35 teams, all of which are based in Canada, that are divided into four conferences that are eligible to compete for the year-end championship. The University of Saskatchewan began in 1907 and has operated teams that compete with others since 1911. The term Huskie Athletics is defined as those student athletes from the University of Saskatchewan that compete in elite interuniversity competition administered by U Sports and its members, both as regions and as individual institutions. The Ottawa Gee-Gees are the athletic teams that represent the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario. The Gee-Gees won the national football championship, the Vanier Cup, in 1975 and 2000, while also appearing in the game in the 1970, 1980, and 1997 seasons. The Gee-Gees women's rugby team won the national championship in 2017, and the women's soccer team were national champions in 1996 and 2018.
