''T.K.O. (The Knock Out)'' is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Mya. It is the follow-up to her album ''Smoove Jones'' (2016) and was released April 20, 2018, on her label Planet 9 to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of her debut album '' Mya'' (1998). Recorded between 2015–2016, ''T.K.O.'' is solely produced in its entirely by musician and producer Lamar "MyGuyMars" Edwards with additional production from Los Da Mystro, Lyle LeDuff, Hardwerk and Khirye Tyler. Mya Marie Harrison (; born October 10, 1979), (stylized as Mýa), is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. Born into a musical family, she studied ballet, jazz, and tap dance as a child. Initially, Mýa began her career as a VJ and dance posse member on BET's '' Teen Summit''. Trap Music (hip Hop)
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence.
