T3 Transit
T3 Transit is a Canadian public transport company operating buses throughout the Greater Charlottetown area of Prince Edward Island, including the towns of Cornwall and Stratford. History Founded in 2005 as Charlottetown Transit, the 150th anniversary year of the city's incorporation. It is funded by the municipal and federal levels of government and provides service throughout the city's neighbourhoods. The province of Prince Edward Island does not provide transit funding toward the service. The last attempt at public transit was in the form of ''Charlottetown Urban Transit Systems Limited'' from late 1979 to 1981. The name "Charlottetown Transit" was merely a marketing name and not a legally incorporated company. All buses are owned by the City of Charlottetown but are operated under contract by privately owned Coach Atlantic Group. In February, 2012, Charlottetown Transit changed its name to T3 Transit. West Royalty, Prince Edward Island
West Royalty is a neighbourhood of the city of Charlottetown in central Queens County, Prince Edward Island, Canada. History West Royalty was originally a farming community in the western part of Queens Royalty, from which it derives its name. It was officially designated a settlement in 1939 and it became a village in 1980. It was amalgamated into the City of Charlottetown on April 1, 1995. Winsloe is a neighbourhood in the northwestern part of the Canadian city of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. History Winsloe was named for John Hodges Winsloe, the owner of the majority of the land in the area during the mid-19th century. The community developed as a farming settlement on the northern boundary of the township of Queens Royalty, however the construction of the Malpeque Road between the colonial capital of Charlottetown to the south and the shire town of Prince County in Prince Royalty to the northwest saw Winsloe became a service centre on the stagecoach route. Spring Park, Prince Edward Island
Spring Park is a Canadian neighbourhood in the city of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Spring Park derived its name in 1925 from the Spring Park School District whose southern boundary at that time was located along the northern boundary of the city of Charlottetown and west of the villages of Parkdale and Sherwood. The community was defined by Spring Park Road which ran north from the city to serve what was then a rural farming district consisting of estates in the unincorporated township of Queens Royalty. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is a 243-bed acute care hospital located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, making it the largest hospital in the province.
