T1 Bristol–Thornbury
T1 is a bus route operated by First West of England that runs between Bristol and Thornbury. History The route was launched in May 2018 as part of a rebrand to First's Thornbury and Yate routes. It was the first regular service to use the new Stoke Gifford bypass. In September 2020, the frequency of the service was reduced from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes. In August 2021, the frequency of the Sunday service was reduced from every 30 minutes to hourly. In October 2022, the southern terminus was changed to Bristol bus station. The route no longer serves The Centre and Bristol Royal Infirmary. From 2 April 2023, due to government funding, the frequency of the service during weekdays was restored to every 20 minutes. The Monday-Saturday evening frequency was increased from hourly to every 30 minutes. The route was once again extended to The Centre however it does not stop at Bristol Royal Infirmary. Stoke Gifford
Stoke Gifford is a village and parish in South Gloucestershire, England, in the northern suburbs of Bristol. It had around 11,000 residents at the 2001 census, increasing to 15,494 at the 2011 census. It is home to Bristol Parkway station and Stoke Gifford depot, on the London-South Wales railway line, and the Bristol offices of Aviva which took over Friends Life in 2015, Hewlett Packard and the University of the West of England. The parish includes neighbouring Little Stoke, Harry Stoke and Stoke Park. The parish borders Filton, to the south-west, Patchway to the north west, Bradley Stoke to the north and Winterbourne and Hambrook to the east. Compressed natural gas (CNG) is a fuel gas mainly composed of methane (CH4), compressed to less than 1% of the volume it occupies at standard atmospheric pressure. It is stored and distributed in hard containers at a pressure of , usually in cylindrical or spherical shapes. CNG is used in traditional petrol/internal combustion engine vehicles that have been modified, or in vehicles specifically manufactured for CNG use: either alone (dedicated), with a segregated liquid fuel system to extend range (dual fuel), or in conjunction with another fuel ( bi-fuel). A4174 Road
The A4174 is a major ring road in England which runs around the northern and eastern edge of Bristol, mainly in South Gloucestershire, and through the southern suburbs of the city. When it was first conceived it was planned to circle the whole of Bristol, and is commonly referred to as the "Avon Ring Road", or less accurately the "Bristol Ring Road", on road signs. The road does not circle the whole city, instead covering roughly half of the route. It is broken in part where it is concurrent with the A4. The Bristol Royal Infirmary, also known as the BRI, is a large teaching hospital situated in the centre of Bristol, England. It has links with the nearby University of Bristol and the Faculty of Health and Social Care at the University of the West of England, also in Bristol. The Centre, Bristol
The Centre is a public open space in the central area of Bristol, England, created by covering over the River Frome. The northern end of The Centre, known as Magpie Park, is skirted on its western edge by Colston Avenue; the southern end is a larger paved area bounded by St Augustine's Parade to the west, Broad Quay the east, and St Augustine's Reach (part of the Floating Harbour) to the south, and bisected by the 2016 extension of Baldwin Street. Bristol Bus and Coach Station serves the city of Bristol in the west of England. It is situated on Marlborough Street, near the Broadmead shopping area. The original bus station and onsite depot were opened in 1958 by the Bristol Omnibus Company. It was later redeveloped with the current bus station opening in 2006. Before 1958 Bristol had no bus station; most country and long-distance coach services departed from Prince Street, and others used street stops in the Centre, Canon's Road and Old Market.
