''Twist and Shout'' is the first UK extended play by the English rock band the Beatles, released by Parlophone (catalogue number GEP 8882) on 12 July 1963. It was also released in Germany, Spain, New Zealand, Australia and Argentina. It topped the UK EP chart for twenty-one weeks, becoming so successful that it registered on the singles chart and eventually ranked as the fourth-bestselling "single" of 1963 in Britain. All four tracks on the EP were originally released on the band's debut album that year, ''Please Please Me''. ''Twist and Shout'' was the Beatles' second album released in Canada, in mono by Capitol Records (catalogue number T-6054) on 3 February 1964. It consists of songs mostly drawn from ''Please Please Me'', their first LP released in the United Kingdom. This album, like its parent album, contains both original Beatles songs, as well as covers (including its namesake, "Twist and Shout"), denoted in the track listing. "There's a Place" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their debut album, ''Please Please Me'', released in March 1963. It was written primarily by John Lennon and credited to McCartney–Lennon. In the United States, the song was released in July 1963 on the group's first US LP, '' Introducing... Robert William Scott (January 29, 1937 – November 5, 1990) was an American musician, record producer, and songwriter. Biography Scott was born in Mount Pleasant, New York, United States, and became a pianist, vibraphonist, and singer, and could also play the accordion, cello, clarinet, and double bass. He studied under Edvard Moritz at the La Follette School of Music at the age of eight, and was working professionally at 11.
