The Turkey women's national basketball team is the women's basketball side that represents Turkey in international tournaments. They have come away from the EuroBasket tournaments with a bronze medal in 2011 and silver medal in 2013. EuroBasket Women 2005
The 2005 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called Eurobasket 2005 Women, was held in Turkey between 2 September and 11 September 2005. Czech Republic won the gold medal and Russia the silver medal while Spain won the bronze. Maria Stepanova from Russia was named the tournament MVP. The FIBA European Women’s Basketball Championship is a bi-annual women’s basketball competition between national teams organised by FIBA Europe, the sport's governing body in Europe. This was the first time that the championship was hosted by Turkey. Venues Ankara Ankara, the capital of Turkey and the country’s second largest city, was the final stage of the Eurobasket 2005 Women action. EuroBasket Women 2023 Qualification
The EuroBasket Women 2023 qualification was held from November 2021 to February 2023 to decide the 14 teams to join the co-hosts Israel and Slovenia. It featured 38 teams split in ten groups of three or four teams. The ten group winners and the four best second-ranked teams qualified for the final tournament. Basketball At The 2013 Mediterranean Games
The basketball tournament at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin took place between 18 June and 25 June. The men's tournament was held at the Servet Tazegül Arena. A women's tournament was also planned, but was cancelled because too few teams applied. Participating nations Following nations applied to compete in men's tournament. Albania and Greece declared the withdrawal of their teams from the Games on May 10, 2013. Algeria will be participating in place of Albania. At least six nations competing is the requirement for tournament to be held. EuroBasket Women 2023
The 2023 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2023, was the 39th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Slovenia and Israel between 15 and 25 June 2023. The games were played in Tel Aviv and Ljubljana. Serbia was the defending champions. The 2021 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2021, was the 38th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by France and Spain between 17 and 27 June 2021. It was the third time to be hosted by multiple countries. EuroBasket Women 2017
The 2017 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2017, was the 36th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. The tournament was awarded to Czech Republic after winning the bid to Serbia. The tournament also serves as a qualification for the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain, with the top five nations qualifying. As hosts Spain finished in the top five, the sixth placed team also qualified. The championship was reverted to a 16 teams championship, after the 20 teams that participated in 2015.
