Tunisia National Rugby Sevens Team
The Tunisia national rugby sevens team competes in the World Sevens Series and Rugby World Cup Sevens. They have been competing on and off at the Hong Kong Sevens, since 1989, which was their first time there. At the Sevens World Series, Tunisia has collected 19 wins, 63 losses and 2 ties. Their most recent wins were against Argentina and Arabian Gulf at Dubai 2006; Australia, Scotland and Samoa at South Africa 2006; and France at Hong Kong 2008. The team resulted sixth at South Africa 2006 and seventh at South Africa 2004. Their last appearance at a World Series tournament was South Africa 2009. Tunisia played at the 2013 Sevens World Series qualifier at Hong Kong, where they won over Uruguay and lost to Tonga at the quarterfinals. Claude Saurel
Claude Saurel (born 17 April 1948) is a former French people, French rugby union footballer and current coach. He is a former head coach of the Russia national rugby union team, Russia national rugby team. Saurel played his rugby for Béziers, his position being flanker. He went on to become the national coach of Morocco national rugby union team, Morocco. He made the move to Georgia after he was invited to conduct an audit of Georgian rugby in 1997. He went on to work with their Rugby Sevens team, until he was appointed as the national head coach in the summer of 1999. His appointment as head coach saw a surge in success for Georgian rugby. Bill McLaren
William Pollock McLaren (16 October 1923 – 19 January 2010) was a Scottish rugby union commentator, teacher, journalist and one time rugby player. Known as 'the voice of rugby', he retired from commentating in 2002. Renowned throughout the sport, his enthusiasm and memorable turn of phrase endeared him to many. 2014 Hong Kong Sevens
The 2014 Hong Kong Sevens was the 39th edition of the Hong Kong Sevens and the seventh tournament of the 2013–2014 Sevens World Series. It took place at its long-time home, Hong Kong Stadium. The Cup title was claimed by New Zealand, with South Africa, Scotland and Kenya respectively claiming the lower-level Plate, Bowl and Shield. Japan won the World Series Core Team Qualifier to earn promotion to "core" status for the 2014–15 series. Format The teams were drawn into four pools of four teams each. 2019 Africa Men's Sevens
The 2019 Africa Men's Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament held in Johannesburg on 8–9 November 2019. It was the seventh championship in Africa Men's Sevens, a series that began in 2013. This tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics, with the champion team Kenya advancing. The 2015 RA Africa Cup Sevens is an Olympic qualification tournament for rugby sevens at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa on 14–15 November 2015.
