Trog
''Trog'' is a 1970 British science fiction horror film directed by Freddie Francis, and starring Joan Crawford in a story about the discovery of a troglodyte (or Ice Age "caveman") in twentieth-century United Kingdom. The screenplay was written by Peter Bryan, John Gilling, and Aben Kandel. ''Trog'' marks Crawford's last movie appearance. Plot Set in contemporary Britain, the film follows Dr. Brockton (Joan Crawford), a renowned anthropologist who learns that in the caves of the countryside a lone male troglodyte is alive and might be able to be helped and even domesticated. A cave dweller, or troglodyte, is a human being who inhabits a cave or the area beneath the overhanging rocks of a cliff. Prehistory Some prehistoric humans were cave dwellers, but most were not (''see'' ''Homo'' and Human evolution). Such early cave dwellers, and other prehistoric peoples, are also called ''cave men'' (the term also refers to the stereotypical "caveman" stock character type from fiction and popular culture). ''The Edge Chronicles'' is a children's fantasy novel series written by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. It consists of four trilogies, plus four additional books, and other books related to the universe (The Edge). ''Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup'' (''DCSS'') is a free and open source roguelike computer game and the community-developed successor to the 1997 roguelike game ''Linley's Dungeon Crawl'', originally programmed by Linley Henzell. Wally Fawkes
Walter Ernest Fawkes (born 21 June 1924) is a British-Canadian jazz clarinetist and satirical cartoonist. As a cartoonist, he usually worked under the name "Trog" until failing eyesight forced him to retire in 2005 at the age of 81. Early history Fawkes was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and emigrated with his family to Britain in 1931. Enthused by comic books from a young age, Fawkes left school at fourteen to take up a scholarship to study at Sidcup Art School. After 18 months he left art school due to financial restraints. On the outbreak of the Second World War, Fawkes was first employed painting camouflage on factory roofs to hide them from enemy bombing. A bout of pleurisy made Fawkes unfit for service and he was instead employed by the Coal Commission to work on maps of coal seams. The Troggs (originally called the Troglodytes) are an English garage rock band formed in Andover, Hampshire in May 1964. Their most famous songs include the US chart-topper " Wild Thing", "With a Girl Like You" and "Love Is All Around", all of which sold over 1 million copies and were awarded gold discs.
