Trinity Meadows Race Track

The track operated in the 1960s without gambling as Clear Fork Downs, and was later named Squaw Creek Downs. The new owner renamed the track Trinity Meadows and was one of the first horse racing tracks opened once Texas legalized parimutuel betting. The track opened in May 1991 with first year profit of $1.8 million and $1.3 the following year. Once nearby Lone Star Park opened, attendance plummeted and Trinity Meadows closed on August 6, 1996. Willow Park is a city in Parker County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,936 in 2020. Willow Park was the location of Trinity Meadows Race Track, one of the first horse racing tracks opened once Texas legalized parimutuel betting. However, it was never seriously considered for upgrade to first-class status, and once Lone Star Park opened, Trinity Meadows Race Track closed. Parimutuel betting or pool betting is a betting system in which all bets of a particular type are placed together in a pool; taxes and the "house-take" or "vigorish" are deducted, and payoff odds are calculated by sharing the pool among all winning bets. Lone Star Park is a horse racing track and entertainment destination located mile north of Interstate 30 on Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie, Texas, Grand Prairie, Texas.
