Trinamool Gana Parishad
Trinamool Gana Parishad (Grassroot Peoples Association) was a political party in the Indian state of Assam. History TGP formed as a splinter group of Asom Gana Parishad in 2000. The party was led by Atul Bora, then Public Works Department Minister in the Prafulla Mahanta Cabinet. The party was allotted "Cup & Saucer" as election symbol. General elections In the state assembly elections of 2001 in Assam, TGP made an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party. In the Lok Sabha elections of 2004, TGP put up one candidate, Deben Dutta from Guwahati. Dutta received 14,933 votes (1.69% of total votes polled). Atul Bora
Atul Bora is an Indian politician from Assam belonging to a regional party, Asom Gana Parishad. In July 2014 he was elected president of the party. Currently he is the Minister for Agriculture and Veterinary in the Cabinet of Assam Government headed by Himanta Biswa Sarma. Early career Bora started his career of leadership from his student days. He was born in a family of Chutia ethnicity at Borahi Gaon, Athgaon Mouza of Golaghat District. He is the eldest son of Sri Mehuram Bora and Smti. Punya Probha Bora. Asom Gana Parishad
Asom Gana Parishad (translation: ''Assam People's Council'', AGP) is a state political party in Assam, India. The AGP was formed after the historic Assam Accord of 1985 and formally launched at the Golaghat Convention held from 13–14 October 1985 in Golaghat, that let Prafulla Kumar Mahanta to be elected as the youngest chief minister of the state. The AGP has formed government twice from 1985 to 1989 and from 1996 to 2001. Pulakesh Barua is an Indian politician from the state of Assam. He had formed the Natun Asom Gana Parishad (NAGP), a regional political party in 1991 along with Dinesh Goswami and Bhrigu Kumar Phukan but merged the party with the AGP in 1994.
