Tribal War Records
Tribal War Records was a punk rock record label formed in 1991 in New York City by ex-Nausea singer, Neil Robinson. The label operated out of Brooklyn, New York until relocating to Portland, Oregon in 1997. The label released recordings by the notable punk bands such as the anarchist band Aus-Rotten, The Casualties, DIRT, and Oi Polloi among others. In addition to the label's own roster, the label also worked as a touring distro, distributing works by other punk bands, labels, and presses, such as Ak Press and Profane Existence. Riot/Clone
Riot/Clone was a punk band often associated with the anarcho-punk scene, active from 1979 to 1983 and then revived in the early 1990s until they split up again in 2005. The band were originally known as ''Riot'' but the name became ''Riot/Clone'' after two members of the original lineup wanted the band's name to become ''Clone''. History They were formed by Dave Floyd in August 1979. They went through many line-up changes in the first few years, something which contributed greatly to them being almost unheard of outside their native West London. Their first two cassette albums, ''Musical Destruction'' (1980) and ''Crime Pays'' (1981) were only ever released in very small quantities, and it was only when they finally got the money together to release an EP in April 1982 (''There's No Government Like No Government'') did they make the jump to a wider audience, the EP completely selling out within three weeks. Behind Enemy Lines (band)
Behind Enemy Lines is an American crust punk band, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They play in a crossover thrash style of anarchist crust punk and thrash metal. The band features vocalist Dave Trenga and drummer Matt Garabedian, both of Aus-Rotten, Mary Bielich (Penance, Mythic, Mud City Manglers, Novembers Doom, Derketa, Wormhole) and Matt Tuite (Wickerman, Penance, Blackfinger, Devil Bell Hippies, Mud City Manglers) and formerly guitarist Bill Chamberlain of The Pist and Caustic Christ. Biography History In late 2000, after the dissolution of Aus-Rotten, two former members of that band, Dave Trenga and Matt Garabedian, formed Behind Enemy Lines along with Bill Chamberlain (also of The Pist and Caustic Christ) on guitar, and Matt Sachs, formerly of Devastation on bass. Avail
Avail is an American punk rock band from Richmond, Virginia, United States. Originally from Reston, Virginia, the band formed in 1987, its members including Joe Banks, Doug Crosby, Brien Stewart, and Mikey Warstler. The only original remaining member, guitar player Joe Banks, teamed up with rival band LDK's (Learning Disabled Kids) Tim Barry. They moved to Richmond in 1990, and soon, after numerous line up changes, put together a solid lineup to release their first album ''Satiate'' in 1992. Many of their lyrics center on Richmond. The band released six studio albums. The band has never officially disbanded, but has not released any new material since 2002 and stopped playing live shows in 2007. On March 26, 2019, the band announced a reunion show at The National in Richmond, Virginia, scheduled for July 19. Since then, they have played multiple shows and continue to tour. Profane Existence is a Minneapolis-based anarcho-punk collective. Ak Press
AK Press is a worker-managed, independent publisher and book distributor that specialises in radical left and anarchist literature. Operated out of Chico, California, the company is collectively owned. History AK was founded in Stirling, Scotland by Ramsey Kanaan in 1987 as a small mail order outlet, named after his mother Ann Kanaan. The project soon expanded, venturing into independent book publishing, and AK Press also now has a branch in Chico, California. Kanaan and several other members of AK Press left in 2007 to form a new radical publishing company, PM Press. AK Press is organised as a workers' co-operative; the Press is owned by all members of the collective and works without bosses, with every member partaking in each function of the organisation. DIRT (band)
DIRT (Death Is Reality Today) were an English anarcho-punk band from London, England. Initially formed in 1980 (with a core line-up of Gary Buckley, Deno, Fox, Lou and Vomit), the band frequently played with fellow anarchism, anarchists Crass, before releasing their first EP, ''Object, Refuse, Reject, Abuse'' on the Crass Records label. Their second release, ''Never Mind Dirt, Here's the Bollocks'', also on the Crass label, was a live LP released in 1983. The band went into a brief hiatus after 1982 when they took to the road again (Gary and Deno recruiting new members Stuart, Paul and Richard) and recorded the ''Just An Error'' album, after which they split in 1986. Gary and Deno reconvened the band again in 1992 and began touring extensively which resulted in the ''Drunks in Rusty Transits'' album after which the band was dissolved.
