Travis Hamonic
Travis Hamonic ( ; born August 16, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 53rd overall by the New York Islanders in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior Hamonic started his major junior hockey career playing for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He was selected by the New York Islanders in the second round, 53rd overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to the 2009–10 WHL season Hamonic was named the co-captain of the Warriors alongside Jason Bast. In his final junior season, Hamonic was traded to the Brandon Wheat Kings on January 9, 2010. The New York Islanders (colloquially known as the Isles) are a professional ice hockey team based in Elmont, New York. Jason Bast (born June 2, 1989) is a Canadian-German professional ice hockey player currently under contract with Kölner Haie in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career After a junior career with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League, Bast played in the ECHL with the Victoria Salmon Kings during the 2009–10 ECHL season. He then opted to put his professional career on hold in accepting a scholarship to play with St. Francis Xavier University in the Canadian InterUniversity Sports League before returning to the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads. He made 54 appearances for the Steelheads during the 2014-15 season with 31 goals as well as 23 assists. The 2012–13 NHL lockout was a labor dispute between the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) that began at 11:59 pm EDT on September 15, 2012. A tentative deal on a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) was reached on January 6, 2013, with its ratification and signing of a memorandum of understanding on the agreement completed by January 12, 2013, days after the expiry of the previous CBA. The owners of the league's franchises, led by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, declared a lockout of the members of the NHLPA after a new agreement could not be reached before the expiry of the NHL collective bargaining agreement on September 16, 2012. Atlanta Thrashers
The Atlanta Thrashers were a professional ice hockey team based in Atlanta. Atlanta was granted a franchise in the National Hockey League (NHL) on June 25, 1997, and became the League's 28th franchise when it began play in the 1999–2000 season. They were members of the Southeast Division of the NHL's Eastern Conference, and played their home games at what is now known as State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta. Ondřej Pavelec (; born 31 August 1987) is a Czech former professional ice hockey goaltender. Drafted in the second round, 41st overall, by the Atlanta Thrashers in 2005, he stayed with the team as they became the Winnipeg Jets in 2011, and played his final season with the New York Rangers. During the 2012–13 NHL lockout, Pavelec played for Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Czech Extraliga (ELH) and Pelicans of the Finnish SM-liiga.
