Travis Cornwall (born February 1, 1990 in Coquitlam, British Columbia) is a professional indoor lacrosse transition who plays for the Las Vegas Desert Dogs in the National Lacrosse League. The Las Vegas Desert Dogs are a box lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League. The team will play at Michelob Ultra Arena in Paradise, Nevada starting in the 2023 NLL season. History On June 21, 2021, the NLL awarded an expansion franchise to the city of Las Vegas and co-owners Joseph Tsai, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Nash and Dustin Johnson. The team will begin play in the 2022–2023 season beginning in winter 2022 at Michelob Ultra Arena. Tsai is the owner of the San Diego Seals and has received special permission from the NLL to own multiple teams. Jeff Cornwall (born May 29, 1991 in Coquitlam, British Columbia) is a lacrosse player for the Calgary Roughnecks in the National Lacrosse League. Cornwall was drafted in the second round (15th overall) of the 2011 NLL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Bandits. His brother Travis plays for the Panther City Lacrosse Club. After playing five games for the Buffalo Bandits in his rookie year, Cornwall was traded to the Edmonton Rush for two second round draft picks in the 2012 Entry Draft (Jordan Critch and Carter Bender). He was selected by the New York Riptide in the 2019 Expansion Draft. New York traded him back to the now-Saskatchewan Rush prior to the season for the 10th overall pick (Tyson Bomberry) in the 2019 draft. The Vancouver Warriors are a professional box lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League. The team moved from Everett, Washington, for the 2014 NLL season. Minto Cup
The Minto Cup is awarded annually to the champion junior men's box lacrosse team of Canada. It was donated in 1901 by the Governor-General, Lord Minto. Originally restricted to amateurs, within three years the first under-the-table professional teams were already competing for it. After 1904, with efforts to keep the professionals out of competition proving to be futile, it was made open to all challengers. The last ''successful'' amateur challenge came in 1908 when New Westminster Salmonbellies won it; the last amateur challenge was made in 1913 by Vancouver Athletic Club.
