Transitional Government Of Tigray
The Transitional Government of Tigray was a caretaker administration that was formally declared by the House of Federation, House of Federation of Ethiopia on 7 November 2020, in the context of a Tigray conflict, conflict between the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), in power in the Tigray Region, Tigray Regional State and the federal government of Ethiopia. Tigray Region
The Tigray Region (or simply Tigray; officially the Tigray National Regional State) is the northernmost Regions of Ethiopia, regional state in Ethiopia. The Tigray Region is the homeland of the Tigrayan, Irob people, Irob and Kunama people. Its capital and largest city is Mekelle. 2020 Tigray Regional Election
On 9 September 2020, the Ethiopian region of Tigray held an election for its state council. The election was considered illegal by the federal government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who postponed the 2020 general election earlier in the year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the election organisers, the Tigray People's Liberation Front won 98.2% of the vote and 100% of the 152 seats that were contested. Mekelle was formerly the capital of Enderta province, Enderta Awrajja, awraja in Tigray Province, Tigray.
