Transformer
A transformer is a passive component that transfers electrical energy from one electrical circuit to another circuit, or multiple circuits. A varying current in any coil of the transformer produces a varying magnetic flux in the transformer's core, which induces a varying electromotive force (EMF) across any other coils wound around the same core. Electrical energy can be transferred between separate coils without a metallic (conductive) connection between the two circuits. Faraday's law of induction, discovered in 1831, describes the induced voltage effect in any coil due to a changing magnetic flux encircled by the coil. Transformers are used to change AC voltage levels, such transformers being termed step-up or step-down type to increase or decrease voltage level, respectively. Transformers can also be used to provide galvanic isolation between circuits as well as to couple stages of signal-processing circuits. Since the invention of the first constant-potential transfo ...

Transformers
''Transformers'' is a media franchise produced by American toy company Hasbro and Japanese toy company Takara Tomy. It primarily follows the Autobots and the Decepticons, two alien robot factions at war that can transform into other forms, such as vehicles and animals. The franchise encompasses toys, animation, comic books, video games and films. As of 2011, it generated more than () in revenue, making it one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time. The franchise began in 1984 with the ''Transformers'' toy line, comprising transforming mecha toys from Takara's '' Diaclone'' and ''Micro Change'' toylines rebranded for Western markets. The term " Generation 1" covers both the animated television series '' The Transformers'' and the comic book series of the same name, which are further divided into Japanese, British and Canadian spin-offs, respectively. Sequels followed, such as the '' Generation 2'' comic book and '' Beast Wars'' TV series, which became its own ...

Transformer (David Stoughton Album)
''Transformer'' is the only album by American musician David Stoughton, released in December 1968 by Elektra Records. Produced by Stoughton, the album is a mix of folk and pop songwriting with sound collages and musique concrète. The musician had drawn influence from composer John Cage and created the group The Cambridge Electric Opera Company to explore electronic and traditionally-based music; although the group perform on the album, it was credited to Stoughton alone to avoid confusion with fellow Elektra band Earth Opera. A single, "The Sun Comes Up Each Day", was issued from the record. Music critics and listeners were challenged by the album's experimental content; Stoughton noted that people with either "extreme" or "conservative" tastes enjoyed only half the album. ''Transformer'' has seen retrospective praise and has been included on numerous magazine reference lists; it has also been re-released digitally. Background and recording David Stoughton had been a Harva ...

Transformer (Lou Reed Album)
''Transformer'' is the second solo studio album by American recording artist Lou Reed. Produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson, the album was released in November 1972 by RCA Records. It is considered an influential landmark of the glam rock genre, anchored by Reed's most successful single, " Walk on the Wild Side", which touched on then-controversial topics of sexual orientation, gender identity, prostitution, and drug use. Although Reed's self-titled debut solo album had been unsuccessful, Bowie had been an early fan of Reed's former band The Velvet Underground, and used his own fame to promote Reed, who had not yet achieved mainstream success. Background As with its predecessor ''Lou Reed'', ''Transformer'' contains songs Reed composed while in the Velvet Underground (here, four out of eleven). "Andy's Chest" was first recorded by the band in 1969 and "Satellite of Love" demoed in 1970; these versions were released on '' VU'' and ''Peel Slowly and See,'' respectively. For ''Tra ...

It was produced by Bruce Kulick, Stephan Hanuman and Curt Cuomo, and its cover was designed by Jim Bovin. The album features drummer Brent Fitz and vocalist John Corabi, both of whom Bruce had worked with in the band Union. Curt Cuomo provided backing vocals on the album, and Tim Cashion of Grand Funk Railroad played keyboards. Track listing All songs written by Bruce Kulick. All are sung by Kulick except where noted. This Is It And I Am It And You Are It And So Is That And He Is It And She Is It And It Is It And That Is That
''This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and That Is That'' is the second album by Marnie Stern, released on October 7, 2008 on Kill Rock Stars. The album's title comes from an Alan Watts quote in his work ''On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are'' (1966), which was in turn a quotation from James Broughton James Broughton (November 10, 1913 – May 17, 1999) was an American poet and poetic filmmaker. He was part of the San Francisco Renaissance, a precursor to the Beat poets. He was an early bard of the Radical Faeries, as well as a member of ...'s ''The Bard and the Harper'' (1965). Broughton also used the quote in his art film ''This Is It'' (1971). Pitchfork named ''This Is It...'' the 44th greatest album of 2008. Composition Alongside experimental rock and indie rock, ''This Is It'' takes on "gleeful, choppy, and ambitious" math rock. Track listing # "Prime" – 2:28 # "Transformer" – 2:09 # "Shea S ...

Transformer (machine Learning Model)
A transformer is a deep learning model that adopts the mechanism of self-attention, differentially weighting the significance of each part of the input data. It is used primarily in the fields of natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision (CV). Like recurrent neural networks (RNNs), transformers are designed to process sequential input data, such as natural language, with applications towards tasks such as translation and text summarization. However, unlike RNNs, transformers process the entire input all at once. The attention mechanism provides context for any position in the input sequence. For example, if the input data is a natural language sentence, the transformer does not have to process one word at a time. This allows for more parallelization than RNNs and therefore reduces training times. Transformers were introduced in 2017 by a team at Google Brain and are increasingly the model of choice for NLP problems, replacing RNN models such as long short-term memor ...

Transformer (flying Car)
The Aerial Reconfigurable Embedded System (ARES) was a concept for an unmanned VTOL flight module that can transport various payloads. The concept started as the TX (Transformer) in 2009 for a terrain-independent transportation system centered on a ground vehicle that could be configured into a VTOL air vehicle and carry four troops. ARES' primary function was the same as TX, to use flight to avoid ground-based transportation threats like ambushes and Improvised explosive device, IEDs for units that don't have helicopters for those missions. It was to be powered by twin tilting ducted fans and have its own power system, fuel, digital flight controls, and remote command-and-control interfaces. The flight module would have different detachable mission modules for specific purposes including cargo delivery, CASEVAC, and Intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance#ISR (Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance), ISR. Up to of payload would be carried by a ...

Switched-mode Power Supply
A switched-mode power supply (switching-mode power supply, switch-mode power supply, switched power supply, SMPS, or switcher) is an electronic power supply that incorporates a switching regulator to convert electrical power efficiently. Like other power supplies, an SMPS transfers power from a DC or AC source (often mains power, see AC adapter) to DC loads, such as a personal computer, while converting voltage and current characteristics. Unlike a linear power supply, the pass transistor of a switching-mode supply continually switches between low-dissipation, full-on and full-off states, and spends very little time in the high dissipation transitions, which minimizes wasted energy. A hypothetical ideal switched-mode power supply dissipates no power. Voltage regulation is achieved by varying the ratio of on-to-off time (also known as duty cycles). In contrast, a linear power supply regulates the output voltage by continually dissipating power in the pass transistor. The swi ...
