Tracer (bus)
Tracer is the public bus system for the city of Tracy, California. Unique among transit agencies, since 2002 the service operates as free public transport every April and December. Operations The service provides seven circulator routes. The buses are designated by letters A through G. Fares range from free to $1.50 depending on the category. Most routes operate from approximately 7 AM to 7 PM weekdays and 9 AM to 5 PM on 30–60 minute headways. Service is provided to the Tracy ACE station and to West Valley Mall. Major hubs for this bus system are Tracy Transit Center with connections to San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) bus lines to neighboring communities in addition to Greyhound Lines and Amtrak Thruway Bus services. The service's second hub is at Walmart and provides intercity connections to Stockton through RTD. West Valley Mall is a mall in Tracy, California that opened in 1995. It is owned and operated by Namdar Realty Group and is located directly off Highway 205. The mall is anchored by Target, Macy's, and a Cinemark Movie Theater. The mall is located north and next to both Grant Line Road and Interstate 205 which connects with nearby interstates 580 and 5. The shopping center is adjacent to the former Naglee Park and Ride Lot, a transit hub for local Tracer and regional SMART bus services. Tracy Transit Center
The Tracy Transit Center is a bus station in Tracy, California, United States. The facility serves as a bus hub for transportation on local, commuter, and long-distance bus services. It also replaced the Naglee Park and Ride Lot "as the place for people to meet buses and vanpools" when the Naglee lot was sold for development in spring 2017, "after the city’s negotiations with several shopping centers near Interstate 205 proved unsuccessful." Tracer and taxi services offer local connections. Greyhound Lines also provides bus service to the transit center. Parking is offered for both bikes and vehicles and there are bus shelters and stops for transit. Although located in very close proximity to railroad tracks, there is currently no rail service to the transit center; Valley Link service is proposed to stop at a newly constructed train platform adjacent to the station.
