The 2022 Tour du Rwanda was a road cycling stage race that took place from 20 and 27 February 2022 in Rwanda. The race was rated as a category 2.1 event on the 2022 UCI Africa Tour calendar, and was the 25th edition of the Tour du Rwanda. After the 2021 edition was postponed to early May due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race returned to its usual late-February timeslot. The 2021 Tour du Rwanda was a road bicycle racing, road cycling stage race that took place in Rwanda between 2 and 9 May 2021. The race was rated as a category UCI race classifications, 2.1 event on the 2021 UCI Africa Tour calendar, and was the 23rd edition of the Tour du Rwanda. The race was originally scheduled to be held from 21 to 28 February, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Rwanda, COVID-19 pandemic, it had to be postponed and rescheduled to early May. The 2020 Tour du Rwanda was a road cycling stage race that took place in Rwanda between 23 February and 1 March 2020. The race was rated as a 2.1 event as part of the 2020 UCI Africa Tour, and was the 23rd edition of the Tour du Rwanda. Natnael Tesfatsion, riding for the Eritrean national team, won the race by almost a minute ahead of Rwandan rider Moise Mugisha of the . Swiss rider Patrick Schelling of originally finished third, but it was revealed in September 2020 that he had tested positive for use of terbutaline, an unauthorized asthma drug, on stage 2 on 24 February. As a result of the 'non-intentional anti-doping rule violation,' Schelling was stripped of his results from this race and was handed a four-month suspension that retroactively began on 18 May 2020.
