Tour Of Belgium
The Tour of Belgium (; ) is a five-day bicycle race which is held annually in Belgium, and is part of the UCI ProSeries. It was held annually between 1908 and 1981, except during both world wars. Between 1982 and 1990 several races were not organised and none at all from 1991 to 2001. From 2002 onwards the race has again become an annual fixture on the cycling calendar. Following the start of the UCI ProTour in 2005 it looked like the race would merge with the Eneco Tour; however this did not happen and it became part of the UCI Europe Tour competition. Winners Twelve riders have managed to win the Tour of Belgium more than once. The 2013 Tour of Belgium was the 83rd edition of the Tour of Belgium cycling stage race. It took place from 22 May to 26 May 2013 in Belgium. The race was a part of the UCI Europe Tour. 2011 Tour Of Belgium
The 2011 Tour of Belgium is the 81st edition of the Tour of Belgium cycling stage race. It takes place from 25 May to 29 May 2011 in Belgium. The race is part of the UCI Europe Tour. It begins with a short prologue in Buggenhout, followed by four longer stages, ultimately finishing in Putte. Schedule Teams Twenty-one teams have been invited to the 2011 Tour of Belgium: 7 teams are from the UCI ProTeams, 7 are UCI Professional Continental Teams and 7 are UCI Continental Teams. Stages Prologue 25 May 2011 – Buggenhout (Belgium), With only 7 turns in the course, the short prologue in Buggenhout was not technical and favored more powerful riders. Peugeot team was a French professional cycling team that promoted and rode Peugeot racing bikes. It is listed as the most successful cycling team of all time on cyclingranking.com, with a large margin on the second placed team, Alcyon. History Peugeot cycles started producing bicycles in 1882, and from then on it was involved in sponsoring cyclists. At the beginning of the century a Peugeot cycling team existed. Hippolyte Aucouturier rode Peugeot cycles when he won Paris–Roubaix and Bordeaux–Paris in 1903, and when he was disqualified from the 1904 Tour de France in which he had finished fourth overall, for the illegal use of trains and cars. But the Peugeot team obtained success for the following four years in the Tour de France with Louis Trousselier, René Pottier and Lucien Petit-Breton. Cilo is a Swiss manufacturer of bicycles that currently owned and operated by the Swiss E-Mobility Group (SEMG), part of the TVS Group. ''Cilo'' is an acronym for Charles Jean Lausanne-Oron. The abbreviation from the manufacturer's name ''Jean'' was changed to an ''i'' for ease of pronunciation in French. "Lausanne-Oron" refers to a holding in Lausanne, associated with the industrialisation of the city at the turn of the 20th century.
