Tour de Leelanau was a USA Cycling road bicycle racing event held annually from 2005 to 2008 in Leelanau County, Michigan (near Traverse City). Starting in 2007, the men's event is sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and serves as the last stop on the 2006–07 UCI America Tour and the 2007 USA Cycling Professional Tour. Cheerwine is a cherry-flavored soft drink by Carolina Beverage Corporation of Salisbury, North Carolina. It has been produced since 1917, claiming to be "the oldest continuing soft drink company still operated by the same family". Overview and history When the Maysville Syrup Company of Maysville, Kentucky, went bankrupt in 1917, L.D. Peeler, Hughston Kirby, Kurt Weinmann and other invested businessmen moved the company to North Carolina and renamed it the Carolina Syrup Company. That same year, Peeler, Kirby and Weinmann purchased a recipe for a cherry-flavored soda from a Saint Louis flavor salesman, which eventually became Cheerwine. Anne Samplonius
Anne Samplonius (born 11 February 1968) is a road cyclist from Canada. She was born in the United States, has lived most of her life in Canada, and is a citizen of both countries. Samplonius graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor's degree in Recreational Administration in 1992. She was a silver medallist in the time trial at the 1994 UCI Road World Championships, and was a double winner of the Canadian National Time Trial Championships. Samplonius also won the gold medal in the time trial at the 2007 Pan American Games. She represented her nation at the 2000, 2001, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010 UCI Road World Championships. She competed in 12 World Championships during her career, and retired from racing at the end of 2012. Tina Mayolo Pic (born May 9, 1966) is an American bicycle racer. She is a 6-time United States National Criterium Championships winner (2002–2005, 2007, 2009) and a 4-time USA Cycling National Racing Calendar points champion (2000, 2004–2006). Taylor Tolleson (born July 13, 1985) is an American former cyclist. On July 23, 2009, while riding on his motorcycle, Tolleson was the victim of a hit-and-run, forcing him to end his career at 25.
