Sir Francesco Paolo Tosti KCVO (9 April 1846, Ortona, Abruzzo2 December 1916, Rome) was an Italian composer and music teacher. Life Francesco Paolo Tosti received most of his music education in his native Ortona, Italy, as well as the conservatory in Naples. Tosti began his music education at the Royal College of San Pietro a Majella at the age of eleven. He studied violin and composition with Saverio Mercadante, who became so impressed with Tosti that he appointed him student teacher, which afforded the young man a meagre salary of sixty francs a month. Poor health forced Tosti to leave his studies and return home to Ortona. He was confined to his bed for several months. During this time he composed several songs, two of which he submitted to the Florentine Art Society, and two others he submitted for publication to Ricordi. All four were rejected.Ewen, David. Luigi Tosti
Luigi Tosti (Naples, 13 February 1811 – Monte Cassino, 24 September 1897) was a Benedictine historian. Life His father, Count Giovanni Tosti, descended from an ancient Calabrian family, died young, and so his mother, Vittoria Corigliano, entrusted the child to its uncle, a monk at Monte Cassino. In 1819 Tosti because a pupil at the abbey, and was drawn early towards the monastic life. He was sent to Rome to complete his studies, was ordained priest in 1833, and soon returned to Monte Cassino, where for twenty years he taught the doctrines of Aquinas. About 1829 he had begun a deep study of history, and in 1842 he published his ''Storia della badia di Monte Cassino'', soon followed by the ''Storia di Bonifazio VIII'' (History of Pope Boniface VIII). Alejandro Tosti (born 30 May 1996) is an Argentine professional golfer who plays on Korn Ferry Tour. Amateur career Tosti had a successful amateur career and was low amateur at the 2012 Open de Argentina with a score of 69-73-69-70. He was runner-up at the 2013 South American Junior Championship, and the 2015 Latin America Amateur Championship with a score of 69-70-68-71. Antonio Tosti (4 October 1776 – 20 March 1866) was Catholic Cardinal-Priest of San Pietro in Montorio in Rome and later Camerlengo of the Sacred College of Cardinals and Librarian of the Vatican Library. Personal life Tosti was born on 4 October 1776 in Rome, where he died on 20 March 1866. Cardinal-Priest Little else is known of Tosti's personal life and few official records exist prior to his elevation to Cardinal (in pectore) and appointment as Cardinal-Priest of San Pietro in Montorio on 18 February 1839 where he served until his death. Don Tosti (given name: Edmundo Martínez Tostado) (March 27, 1923 – August 2, 2004) was an American musician and composer. Tosti forged a career spanning several decades and styles, from classical to jazz and rhythm and blues. He was best remembered for his Pachuco-style compositions like the hit "Pachuco Boogie". Recorded in 1948, it was the first million-selling Latin song. Luigi Tosti ( Piacenza, 1845 - ) was an Italian sculptor. He first studied in the studio of a sculptor named Gregori, then he enrolled to study design at the Istituto Gazzola, under the direction of Giuseppe Giorgi (also called Pietrogiorgi) to become a designer of ornamentation. After learning disegno, also showed skill in figure painting, and he apprenticed with professor Lorenzo Toncini, who recommended him to try his had at sculpting.
