Torkil Veyhe
Torkil Eyðfinsson Veyhe (born 9 January 1990) is a Faroese former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2017 and 2020 for , and . He also rode for the national cycling team of the Faroe Islands at the Island Games, winning two gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals. In 2016 he rode for the Danish national team at the Danmark Rundt and in 2017 at the European Road Championships in the men's road race. Earlier he rode for the DCU team Team WeBike–CK Aarhus, the Danish club Odder Cykel Klub and the Faroese club Tórshavnar Súkklufelag. In 2016 he won his first A-race in Denmark and his first UCI points. Background and education Torkil Veyhe comes from the Faroe Islands, from the capital Tórshavn. Tórshavn
Tórshavn (; lit. "Thor's harbour"), usually locally referred to as simply ''Havn'', is the capital and largest city of the Faroe Islands. It is located in the southern part on the east coast of Streymoy. To the northwest of the city lies the mountain Húsareyn, and to the southwest, the Kirkjubøreyn. They are separated by the Sandá River. The city itself has a population of 13,957 (2022), and the greater urban area has a population of 21,078, including the suburbs of Hoyvik and Argir. 2016 Danmark Rundt
The 2016 Danmark Rundt (officially PostNord Danmark Rundt 2016 for sponsorship reasons) was a men's road bicycle race which was held from 27 July to 31 July 2016. It was the 26th edition of Danmark Rundt, which was established in 1985. The race was rated as a 2.HC event and formed part of the 2016 UCI Europe Tour. The race was made up of five stages over five days and included an individual time trial. Teams A total of 16 teams with 8 riders each raced in the 2016 Danmark Rundt: 3 UCI WorldTeams, 8 UCI Professional Continental teams, 4 UCI Continental Teams along with a Danish national team under the Team Postnord Danmark name.
