Tore Johannessen
Tore Johannessen (2 April 1922 – 5 January 2005) was a Norwegian ice hockey referee and sports administrator. As a referee, he officiated at both the Ice Hockey World Championships and the Winter Olympic Games, and later served as president of the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association. His career was recognized by induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame as a builder in ice hockey, and he received the Norwegian King's Medal of Merit. Hockey career Johannessen was born on 2 April 1922, in Norway. He played with IF Ready before becoming an ice hockey referee at the international level. He was assigned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to eight international tournaments, which included the Ice Hockey World Championships and the Winter Olympic Games. He refereed three games at the 1951 Ice Hockey World Championships in Paris. Gjøvik Olympic Cavern Hall
Gjøvik Olympic Cavern Hall ( no, Gjøvik Olympiske Fjellhall or ) is an ice hockey rink located within a mountain hall in Gjøvik, Norway. With a capacity for 5,500 spectators, the hall also features a 25-meter swimming pool and telecommunications installations. Opened in 1993 and costing 134.6 million Norwegian krone (NOK), it was built for the 1994 Winter Olympics, where it hosted 16 ice hockey matches. It is the home of Gjøvik Hockey, has hosted the 1995 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships and is also used as an event venue. The structure is the world's largest cavern hall for public use. IIHF Hall Of Fame Inductees
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey. The IIHF Hall of Fame was founded in 1997, and has been located within the Hockey Hall of Fame since 1998. Drøbak
Drøbak is a List of cities in Norway, town and the centre of the municipality of Frogn, in Viken county, Norway. The city is located along the Oslofjord, and has 13,409 inhabitants. History Drøbak and Frogn was established as a parish on its own through a royal decree on 8 September 1823. It had been a part of Ås parish. Drøbak was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was merged with Frogn on 1 January 1962. Traditionally, Drøbak was the winter harbour of Norway's capital, Oslo, since in severe winters the fjord will freeze from outside Drøbak all the way up to Oslo. It had city status between 1842 and 1962, upon which point the municipality was merged into the rural municipality Frogn and lost its city status. The city status was regained by the municipality council on 13 February 2006. It was also decided that adjacent villages such as Heer, Norway, Heer would be included within the city.
