Toot Hill, Essex
Toot Hill is a village in the Stanford Rivers civil parish in the Epping Forest (district), Epping Forest district of Essex, England. It is south-west of Chipping Ongar and east of Epping, Essex, Epping. Toot Hill is less than a mile from the small hamlet of Clatterford End, Toot Hill, Clatterford End. The Toot Hill Country Show (held a short distance away at Stanford Rivers) has taken place each year since 1953. History Toot Hill may originally have been part of the parish of High Ongar, and may have become part of Stanford Rivers about 1280. Brentwood and Ongar is a constituency in Essex represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Alex Burghart, a Conservative, serving since September 2021 as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Apprenticeships and Skills. The village is situated approximately north-west from Chipping Ongar, west from the county town of Chelmsford, and lies off the A414 road. Essex Way
The Essex Way is a waymarked long-distance footpath long, along footpaths and roads in Essex, England. The trail starts in Epping in the southwest, crosses Dedham Vale and Constable country to finish at the port of Harwich on the Stour estuary. It leads through ancient woodlands, open farmland, tree-lined river valleys and leafy green lanes, unveiling historic towns and villages along the way. The route is waymarked by Essex Way plaques and direction arrows. The original CPRE signs were dark green, but most of these have now been replaced with Essex County Council plaques depicting two poppies on a white background. These are attached to fingerposts, stiles, gates, footbridges and posts. The waymarks, together with the maps in the guidebook, make the walk easy to follow. Robin C. W. Tilbrook (born 1958) is an English solicitor and political leader who chairs the English Democrats, a political party he founded. It advocates a devolved English Parliament, having previously advocated English independence from the United Kingdom. Early life Tilbrook was born in Kuala Lumpur, Federation of Malaya, in 1958. He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, gained a BA (Hons) in politics and economics from the University of Kent at Canterbury, and then studied at The College of Law, Chester. The English Democrats is a right-wing to far-right, English nationalist political party active in England. A minor party, it currently has no elected representatives at any level of UK government. The English Democrats were established in 2002 by members of the Campaign for an English Parliament pressure group.
