Tony Taylor (baseball)
Antonio Nemesio Taylor Sánchez (December 19, 1935July 16, 2020) was a Cuban baseball second baseman who played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and Detroit Tigers from 1958 until 1976. He batted and threw right-handed and also played third base and first base. Taylor was signed as an amateur free agent by the New York Giants in 1954 and played for three of their minor league affiliates until 1957, when the Chicago Cubs drafted him in that year's Rule 5 draft and promoted him to the major leagues. After spending two seasons with the organization, he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1960, the same year he was selected twice as an All-Star. He was subsequently dealt in mid-1971 to the Detroit Tigers, who released him after two seasons. He returned to the Phillies and played his last game on September 29, 1976. Tony Taylor (footballer, Born 1946)
Anthony Taylor (born 6 September 1946) is a former professional footballer, who made 345 appearances in the Scottish League and Football League playing mainly as a left back. Playing career Taylor began his career at Kilmarnock in 1962, before moving to Celtic from 1964 to 1967. However he did not make a first team appearance for either club. In 1967, he signed for Morton making 22 appearances before signing for Crystal Palace on 31 October 1968. Taylor played in 195 league games for Crystal Palace between then and 1974, scoring eight goals. It was during this period that he was converted from a winger to left back. His debut came on 9 November 1968 in a 2–0 away win against Oxford United and Taylor was ever present for the remainder of that season (25 appearances) which saw Palace reach the top tier for the first time. Tony Taylor (born July 21, 1984) is a former American football linebacker. He was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Georgia. Taylor was also a member of the Seattle Seahawks and the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League. College career Taylor had a very good senior season at the University of Georgia. Alejandro Antonio "Tony" Taylor (born July 13, 1989) is a Panamanian professional footballer who plays as a striker. Born in the United States, his parents are of Panamanian descent and he was called up to the Panama national football team for the first time in September 2016. Tony Taylor (born August 9, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for Türk Telekom of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). Career Taylor played 4 seasons of college basketball at the George Washington University, with the George Washington Colonials. He went undrafted in the 2012 NBA draft. On November 2, 2012, he was selected by the Tulsa 66ers in the 2012 NBA D-League draft. In the summer of 2013, Taylor signed with Turów Zgorzelec of Poland. George Anthony Morgan Taylor, GC (30 October 1917 – 19 August 1972) was an Australian Volcanologist awarded the George Cross in 1952 for "conspicuous courage in the face of great danger" during the eruption of Mount Lamington in Papua from January to March 1951. Taylor was one of only five Australian civilians directly awarded the George Cross between its institution in 1941 and 1972 when it was replaced in the Australian honours system by the Cross of Valour. Early life and career Taylor was born in Moree, New South Wales, the son of George Taylor, a businessman, and Eileen May Taylor (née Morgan). Tony Taylor is a community activist and former Provisional IRA inmate from Northern Ireland who was sentenced to 18 years in prison in 1994 after he was seriously injured in a premature explosion in Derry. He was released under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement. In 2011 Taylor was arrested for possession of a rifle and released in 2014. Bad Newz Kennels Dog Fighting Investigation
The Bad Newz Kennels dog fighting investigation began in April 2007 with a search of property in Surry County, Virginia, owned by Michael Vick, who was at the time quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons football team, and the subsequent discovery of evidence of a dog fighting ring. Over seventy dogs, mostly pit bull terriers, with some said to be showing signs of injuries, were seized, along with physical evidence during several searches of Vick's property by local, state and federal authorities. The case drew widespread publicity to the issues of animal abuse and dog fighting. It also drew attention to unlawful gambling and drug activities which authorities claim often accompany dog fighting. Subsequently, Vick and three other principals were convicted of federal offense conspiracy charges and imprisoned.
