Tony Mason (American Football)
Anthony J. Mason (March 2, 1928 – July 23, 1994) was an American football coach. He was the head coach at the Cincinnati Bearcats football, University of Cincinnati from 1973 to 1976 and at the Arizona Wildcats football, University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, Tucson from 1977 Arizona Wildcats football team, 1977 through compiling a career college football record of Prior to Cincinnati, Mason was an assistant coach for nine seasons in the Big Ten Conference, five at Michigan Wolverines football, Michigan under Bump Elliott and four at Purdue Boilermakers football, Purdue. Earlier, he was the head coach at Niles McKinley High School in Niles, Ohio, where the Red Dragons won state championships in 1961 and 1963. Mason was elected to the Ohio High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2002; he died in 1994 at age 66, after collapsing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Tony Mason (co-driver)
Tony Mason is a British former rally co-driver and television presenter. In 1972, he navigated Roger Clark to victory in the RAC Rally and the team also finished second in the event twice in 1974 and 1975, the only British crew to do so in a period spanning 35 years. He has also competed as a driver himself, and was recently co-driver for Finnish driver Hannu Mikkola with whom he competed for Ford in a recent Classic Rally in New Zealand. Biography Following his retirement from rallying, he became a presenter on the BBC Two motoring programme ''Top Gear'' between 1986 and 1998, where he commented on motorsport, as well as presenting general interest items about items such as fire engines, Leyland buses, vintage Rolls-Royces and high-performance Jaguars through to Eddie Stobart trucks and Volvo's £15 million concept bus – the most expensive vehicle that he, or anyone else on ''Top Gear'', has ever driven. Air Vice Marshal Richard Anthony "Tony" Mason, (born 22 October 1932) is a retired senior commander of the Royal Air Force who became Air Secretary. Early life Mason was born on 22 October 1932, the son of William and Maud Mason. He was educated at the then all-boys private Bradford Grammar School and at the University of St Andrews, from where he graduated with a Master of Arts (MA). Military career Mason was commissioned into the Education Branch of the Royal Air Force as a flying officer on 29 June 1956 with the service number 504826. Promoted to flight lieutenant on 29 December 1958, he was appointed to a permanent commission on 1 July 1959. He was promoted to squadron leader on 17 February 1963 and to wing commander on 1 July 1970. He attended the United States Air Forces's Air War College located in Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama in 1971 and the RAF's Staff College in Bracknell, Berkshire in 1972.
