''Tonight at Twelve'' is a 1929 American drama film directed by Harry A. Pollard and written by Matt Taylor, Harry A. Pollard and Owen Davis. Mary Doran
Mary Doran (September 8, 1910 – September 6, 1995) was an American actress. She appeared in more than 80 films from 1927 to 1944. Biography Doran was born in New York and attended public schools there before graduating and going to Columbia University. She left Columbia after three years to pursue a career on stage. She sang and danced in Belle Baker's ''Betsy'' when it was in New York. Later, she performed in Flo Ziegfeld's ''Rio Rita''. Doran's films included ''Broadway Melody'', ''Half a Bride'', and ''The Trial of Mary Dugan''. In 1929, Doran was under contract to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Louise Carver (June 9, 1869 - June 19, 1956) was an American actress who performed in grand opera, stage, nickelodeon, and motion pictures. Early years and career Born Mary Louise Steiger in Davenport, Iowa, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Stieger. Carver made her first appearance on stage as a teenager, and her grand opera debut came at the Auditorium Theatre, Chicago, Illinois in 1892. In 1908, she made her screen debut in ''Macbeth''. She came to national prominence as a comedian in Mack Sennett silent films such as '' The Hollywood Kid'' (1924). Owen Gould Davis (January 29, 1874 – October 14, 1956) was an American dramatist known for writing more than 200 plays and having most produced. In 1919, he became the first elected president of the Dramatists Guild of America. He received the 1923 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play '' Icebound'', His plays and scripts included works for radio and film.
