Proud Of The Netherlands
Trots op Nederland (TON, short: Trots; English: "Proud of the Netherlands") is a political party in the Netherlands. It was founded by Rita Verdonk, an independent member of the House of Representatives, previously a member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). History On 3 April 2008 Verdonk launched the party. A subsequent poll by Maurice De Hond indicated that Trots op Nederland and the Labour Party would be tied for second place with 22 seats each in the Dutch Parliament which counts 150 seats. Verdonk declared that her movement would consist of "sympathizers" and, like the Party for Freedom, would not have a membership structure. However, on 7 July 2009, it was announced that the "movement" would become a Dutch political party. Verdonk stated that she wanted to use the party's own wiki as a debating platform for citizens. The party was labeled as right wing and conservative liberal by the Dutch newspaper ''NRC Handelsblad''. An opinion poll by Intervie ...

Turnover Number
Turnover number has two different meanings: In enzymology, turnover number (also termed ''k''cat) is defined as the maximum number of chemical conversions of substrate molecules per second that a single active site will execute for a given enzyme concentration _T/math> for enzymes with two or more active sites. For enzymes with a single active site, ''k''cat is referred to as the catalytic constant. It can be calculated from the maximum reaction rate V_\max and catalyst site concentration _T/math> as follows: :k_\mathrm = \frac (See Michaelis–Menten kinetics). In other chemical fields, such as organometallic catalysis, turnover number (abbreviated ''TON'') has a different meaning: the number of moles of substrate that a mole of catalyst can convert before becoming inactivated. An ideal catalyst would have an infinite turnover number in this sense, because it would never be consumed. The term turnover frequency (abbreviated ''TOF'') is used to refer to the turnover per unit tim ...

Tono (other)
TONO is a Norwegian corporation that administers copyrights for music in Norway. It is owned and governed by its members; composers, music publishers and text-writers. Through the managing agreement the originators give TONO an exclusive right to administer the members' performing rights in Norway. By 2006 the number of members reached about 14,000, through agreements of reciprocation with about 60 other corporations, organised under the umbrella-organisation CISAC. TONO ''de facto'' manages the whole world-repertoire. TONO was originally created in 1928 under the name of ''Norsk Komponistforenings Internasjonale Musikkbyrå''. Managing of mechanical rights is transferred to NCB, ''Nordisk Copyright Byrå''. Norway has ratified the Berne Convention protecting literary and artistic productions. Furthermore, the convention's articles are continued in Norwegian law through ''Lov om opphavsrett til åndsverk'' 12. mai Nr.2 1961 (åndsverkloven). The law provides the originator an ex ...

Ton Class
Ton classes are categories used to identify classes of yachts. Thames tonnage Early attempts at creating rating rules were based on the British "old tonnage measurement" system to calculate the volume of the hold of large commercial ships. It gave the vessel's carrying capacity in tons (at 35 cubic feet per ton) or, as some believe, in tuns. Sail area was not included, of course, nor were any credits given for less efficient rigs so, naturally, in the yacht-racing field the cutters predominated. Eventually, this rule was modified in 1854 as the Thames Measurement Rule: :\text = \frac where the length is in feet, from the stempost to sternpost; and the beam is the maximum beam, in feet. Godinet rule The Godinet rule was adopted in 1892 by the "Union des yachts français", and was quickly adopted by other nations from the European continental. It allowed the classifications of yachts by tons, with a formula established by Auguste Godinet which considers displacement, len ...

Ton (society)
The ''ton'' was the high society in the United Kingdom during the late Regency era and the reign of King George IV, and later. The word means, in this context, "manners" or "style" and is pronounced as in French (). The full phrase is ''le bon ton'', meaning etiquette, "good manners" or "good form" – characteristics held as ideal by the British ''beau monde''. The term ''le beau monde'' (pronounced ), literally meaning "the beautiful world" (but here meaning "fashionable people," or "fashionable society"), was similar to ''le bon ton'' during the late 19th century. The ''ton'' has also been used to refer to the Upper Ten Thousand of later 19th-century New York society as well as most of the peerage, landed gentry, and wealthy merchants or bankers of the City of London. Social ladder ''Ton'' society was intensely class-conscious and the social hierarchy was rigid. Members of the ''ton'' came from the aristocracy, gentry, royalty and monarchs. Though some wealthier members ...
