Tomorrow (Paul McCartney Song)
"Tomorrow" is a song by the British–American band Wings from their debut album '' Wild Life'', released in December 1971. It was written by band members Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney. In 1976, American singer David Cassidy had a hit with his cover version of the song. Composition and recording Paul McCartney had taped a demo of "Tomorrow" before he and Linda began recording their album ''Ram'' in New York City in late 1970. The song is a piano ballad and ends with a gospel-style coda, which is played at a slower tempo than the main portion. The composition is in the key of D major. According to author Robert Rodriguez, McCartney's lyrics " xtoloptimism in the face of yesterday's sorrows", while Tom Doyle likens the song to a sequel to " Yesterday", as McCartney reveals his insecurity and "plead with his lover not to let him down". Wings (band)
Wings were a British-American Rock music, rock band formed in 1971 by former The Beatles, Beatle bassist Paul McCartney, his wife Linda McCartney on keyboards, session drummer Denny Seiwell, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine. Wings were noted for their commercial successes, musical eclecticism and frequent personnel changes; going through three lead guitarists and four drummers. However, the core trio of the McCartneys and Laine remained intact throughout the group's existence. Denny Seiwell
Denny Seiwell (born July 10, 1943) is an American drummer and a founding member of Wings. He also drummed for Billy Joel and Liza Minnelli and played in the scores for the films ''Waterworld'', '' Grease II'', and ''Vertical Limit''. His drumming was used in TV shows such as ''Happy Days'' and ''Knots Landing''. Biography Seiwell was born and raised in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, the son of Donald Seiwell and Fay Carrigan. He is a graduate of Lehighton High School and was a member of the first Carbon County Band in 1961. After graduating from high school, Seiwell enlisted in the United States Navy, in the rate of Musician, playing in the Navy Band. He moved to New York City and caught the eye of McCartney, who recruited him to be in his band Wings and according to Seiwell, the band was like one big family living between London and the McCartneys' farm in Scotland. Mother's Pride is a brand name for a variety of breads produced by British Bakeries, a division of Premier Foods. The company also bakes Nimble (reduced calorie) and Hovis branded loaves as well as supermarket 'own brand' ranges. British Bakeries was set up by Rank, Hovis, McDougall in 1955 to counter the then dominance of Allied Bakeries ( Sunblest) and ensure an outlet for their flour products. McCartney recorded it in secrecy, mostly using basic home-recording equipment at his house in St John's Wood. Mixing and some recording took place at professional London studios. Howard Sounes (born 1965) is a British author, journalist and biographer. Biography Born in Welling, South East London, Sounes began his journalistic career as a staff reporter for the ''Sunday Mirror''. He broke major stories, including one of the most notorious murder cases in British criminal history: that of Fred and Rosemary West. Sounes reported that the house at 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester was the grave site of nine young women, with more victims buried nearby. Nicholas Schaffner (January 28, 1953 – August 28, 1991) was an American non-fiction author, journalist, and singer-songwriter. Biography Schaffner was born in Manhattan to John V. Schaffner (1913–1983), a literary agent whose clients included Ray Bradbury, and his wife Perdita Macpherson Schaffner (1919–2001; the former Frances Perdita Aldington). John Ned Mendelsohn is an American writer, journalist, musician and graphic designer.
