Thomas Little (August 27, 1886 in Ogden, Utah – March 5, 1985 in Santa Monica, California) was a United States set decorator who worked on more than 450 Hollywood movies between 1932 and 1953. He won a total of 6 Oscars for art direction and received 21 nominations in the same category. John Joseph Stockdale
John Joseph Stockdale (1770, 1776Stockdale (1990) ''p.''30 or 1777 – 16 February 1847) was an English publisher and editor with something of a reputation as a pornographer. He sought to blackmail a number of public figures over the ''memoirs'' of society courtesan Harriette Wilson, drawing the notorious retort from the Duke of Wellington, ''Publish and be damned!'' He also famously sued the parliamentary reporter Hansard over an allegation that he had published an indecent book and became involved in an important constitutional clash between parliament and the courts that ultimately brought about a change in the law. Windsor (/ˈwɪnzə/) is a constituency in Berkshire represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2005 by Adam Afriyie of the Conservative Party. Frank Little (bishop)
Sir Thomas Francis LittleCommonly known as "Sir Frank" as in this story here KBE (30 November 1925 – 7 April 2008) was an Australian bishop. He was the sixth Roman Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne. He was appointed by Pope Paul VI on 1 July 1974 and retired in 1996; he was succeeded by the Most Reverend George Pell (as he was styled at the time). On retirement he was styled Archbishop Emeritus in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse found that Little had led a culture of secrecy in the Melbourne archdiocese designed to hide complaints against several priests and protect the church's reputation from scandal. Thomas Shepherd Little (1845 – 28 June 1910) was a British-Irish barrister and politician. Born in Kilkenny, Little was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he won a scholarship in international law and took first-class honours in the Law and History tripos of 1872. He was called to the English bar by Inner Temple in 1874 and joined the Northern Circuit, on which he practiced thirty-three years. He was the editor of the English law section of Donald Mackenzie's work on Roman law. One of the few Ulster Protestants to support William Ewart Gladstone, at the 1892 general election, Little was elected for the Liberal Party in Whitehaven, serving until his defeat in the 1895 general election. Tom Little (optometrist)
Thomas E. Little (March 20, 1949 – August 5, 2010) was an American optometrist from Kinderhook, New York, most widely known as the leader of an International Assistance Mission team that was killed in the 2010 Badakhshan massacre. Biography In 1976, Little traveled to Afghanistan. Although only intending to stay there for several months, Little ultimately spent the next 34 years building up the country's eye care services during successive regime changes. Little spoke Dari fluently. In August 2010, Little's medical team was attacked by masked gunmen in the Kuran wa Munjan District of Badakhshan Province while returning from Nuristan to Kabul. The team had spent two weeks traveling between remote villages on foot and providing medical care. Ten members of the team, including six Americans, were murdered. Thomas Little (September 27, 1898 – June 20, 1972) was an American editorial cartoonist. Working for ''The Tennessean, The Nashville Tennessean'', he won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1957. Biography Little was born in Snatch (now called Peytonsville, Tennessee, Peytonsville) in an extremely rural part of Williamson County, Tennessee. His father died when he was two, and his family lived with his grandfather, who taught Little to draw before he could even write. His first job was picking potatoes for 50 cents a day, but the next year he entered the news business at age nine by folding issues of the ''Williamson County News''. Thomas Stewart Colquhoun Little (27 February 1890 – 1927) an English professional footballer who played for Bradford Park Avenue and Stoke. Career Little began his career with his hometown club Ilford and Southend United before joining Football League Second Division side Bradford Park Avenue in 1908. He was a decent forward as a teenager and he helped Bradford gain promotion in 1913–14 scoring 24 goals in 39 games. His career was interrupted by World War I but he returned to Bradford once the League was restored in 1919–20.
