Tom Clare (footballer)
Tom Clare (born 2 September 1999) is an English footballer who most recently played as a forward for Macclesfield F.C. In 2023, he was a finalist on the ninth series of '' Love Island''. Career Football Clare came through the academy at Barnsley and joined Bradford City in 2018 but never made an appearance for the first team. He joined Boston United initially on loan from Bradford, before signing a contract with them in June 2019. After a loan spell with Frickley Athletic, Clare left Boston in November 2019. Having spent time at Bradford (Park Avenue), Buxton and Pontefract Collieries, Clare was one of Macclesfield FC's first signings when the club reformed and he signed a contract with the club in June 2021. He was top scorer during Macclesfield’s 2021-22 season with 23 goals and he signed a new 2-year contract in the spring of 2022. Barnsley () is a market town in South Yorkshire, England. As the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley and the fourth largest settlement in South Yorkshire. In Barnsley, the population was 96,888 while the wider Borough has seen an increase of 5.8%, from 231,200 in 2011 census to 244,600 in 2021 census. The Northern Premier League is an English football league that was founded in 1968. It has four divisions: the Premier Division (which stands at level 7 of the English football league system), Division One East, Division One West and Division One Midlands (which stand at level 8). Frickley is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England in the civil parish of Clayton with Frickley. It lies close to the border with West Yorkshire. Local landmarks All Saints Church Frickley All Saints Church is situated about from the main village in the middle of a field, accessed by a lane from the road. The reason for this unusual site stems back to plague times, when Frickley village was effectively burnt to the ground and re-sited on the top of the hill following a plague epidemic. The only proof that the village was ever anywhere else is the oddly sited church. Being the only stone building of the time, it was left where it was, and survives to this day as an active place of worship in the Parish of Bilham. 2021–22 North West Counties Football League
The 2021–22 North West Counties Football League season was the 40th in the history of the North West Counties Football League, a football competition in England, and the fourth season following the split of the lower level into two geographically separated divisions. Teams are divided into three divisions: Premier Division, at Step 5, and Divisions One North and South, at Step 6. The allocations for Steps 5 and 6 this season were announced by The Football Association on 18 May 2021, and were subject to appeal. On 8 April, it was announced at the league's Management Committee meeting that the season would start no earlier than Saturday 31 July. The league constitution was adopted on 12 June.
