Tom Allison (Australian Footballer)
Tom Allison (29 February 1944) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He played 106 games and kicked 61 goals for North Melbourne between 1963–70. Allison was recruited from West Coburg and played one match for Victoria in 1965. After his retirement, Allison became captain-coach of Canberra Australian National Football League side Belconnen and also played for and coached the Australian Capital Territory. He attended St Kevin's College, Melbourne. Allison's son Brett also played for North Melbourne. West Coburg Football Club
The West Coburg Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 8 km north west of Melbourne in the suburb of Coburg. The club fields seniors and juniors in the Essendon District Football League. History The club is one of the oldest in the EDFL, founded in 1927, it soon found itself playing in the VFA Sub-District Association. It took a little time to settle then the club won five premierships in a row from 1937 to 1941. After the war the club again saluted in 1949 and 1953. EDFL In 1954 West Coburg transferred to the Essendon District Football League. The VFA Sub Districts had wounded up and the club needed a new competition. Coming from a strong standard competition the club was competitive by falling short in its debut season and gain in 1957. Peter Bosustow
Peter Robert Bosustow (born 27 October 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer with the Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and the Carlton Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Career Bosustow commenced his footballing career with Perth in 1975 and played in two premiership sides in 1976 and 1977. After six seasons, Bosustow was recruited to Carlton where he played in the 1981, 1982 and 1983 VFL seasons. After being suspended for four matches at the end of the 1983 season, Bosustow left Carlton to return to the ''Demons'' where he played in the WAFL from 1984 until his retirement from the game in 1987. Bosustow played a total of 141 games with Perth, kicking 378 goals, and was named on a half-forward flank in Perth's 'Team of the Century' (1899 to 1999). Brett Allison
Brett Allison (born 26 May 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club and the Sydney Swans in the VFL/AFL. He served as the head of development at the Melbourne Football Club from 2013 to 2016. Allison played as a crumbing forward pocket or half-forward flanker and is perhaps best remembered for his Mark of the Year in 1991, as well as being a premiership player in 1996 and 1999. He was known for his ''front and square'' ability to get the ball and sharp shooting around goals. At the end of 1997 Allison was involved in talks that could have had him moving back to Sydney, however this deal fell through and he played his 200th for North in 1998. At the end of 1999, he was released by North Melbourne and picked up by Sydney, finally retiring at the end of the 2000 season. Australian rules football in the Australian Capital Territory has been played continuously since 1911 and was the most popular football code in the nation's capital Canberra between 1978 and 1982. The Belconnen Magpies Football Club is an Australian rules football club which competes in the AFL Canberra. They previously played in the now defunct North East Australian Football League competition. History Originally known as the Turner Football Club, the club became known as Belconnen in 1970 and was admitted to the Canberra Australian National Football League in 1971.
