Tofaş Museum Of Cars And Anatolian Carriages
The Tofaş Museum of Cars and Anatolian Carriages ( tr, Tofaş Anadolu Arabaları Müzesi) is a private transport museum in Bursa, Turkey owned by the Turkish automobile maker Tofaş and dedicated to various carriages ( tr, Araba) from Turkey and Tofaş-manufactured cars. It was opened on June 30, 2002. Situated in the historic Umurbey neighborhood of Yıldırım district, the museum is housed in a renovated building of that was an abandoned silk production plant. The facility was leased to the Bursa-based Tofaş Company for museum purposes by the Metropolitan Municipality of Bursa. The museum's collection consists of historic carriages including a two-axle horse-drawn Bursa carriage, oxen drawn carts, canon carriages, wains for hay and firewood, phaetons, powered carriages, Tatar carriage, which are examples of fine carpentry and blacksmithing. Yıldırım, Bursa
Yıldırım is a metropolitan district that covers 399 km² in the centre of Bursa in Turkey. Founded in 1987, it was named after Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I, whose nickname was Yıldırım ("thunderbolt" in Turkish). It is at the foot of Mt. Uludağ, at 150–155 metres in elevation. Kestel and Gürsu are to its west, and the flat lands of Demirtaş, a subdistrict of Osmangazi, are to its north. The Bursa-Ankara highway passes through it. The Fiat Albea is a subcompact car produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat between 2002 and 2012, at the Tofaş facilities in Turkey. It is the European version of the global Fiat Siena, the sedan car derived from the hatch compact Fiat Palio. It is a low cost sedan, aimed at developing global markets, and was not sold in Western Europe. The Fiat Tipo (Type 160) is a compact car, designed by the I.DE.A Institute design house, and produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat between 1988 and 1995. The Tipo was initially available only as a five-door hatchback. The car was made entirely out of galvanized body panels to avoid rust, and was built on a completely new Fiat platform, which was later also used in Alfa Romeo and Lancia models. The Tofaş Murat 131, Şahin, Doğan, and Kartal are Turkish versions of the old Fiat 131 (older models) automobile made in the Türk Otomobil Fabrikası A.Ş. factory in Bursa, Turkey.
