Toe Yi
Major-General Toe Yi ( my, တိုးရီ) is a Burmese military officer who is currently serving as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, and previously served as a military intelligence chief responsible for the State Administration Council's interrogation centres. Early life and education Toe Yi graduated from the Officers Training School, Bahtoo in 1989, alongside Ye Win Oo, as part of the 77th intake. Military career Toe Yi advanced his career by becoming the deputy head of the Office of the Chief of Military Security Affairs (OCMSA), the country's intelligence agency, where he was responsible for domestic intelligence operations. In the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état, OCMSA carried out operations against Kyaw Min Yu and Phyo Zayar Thaw, both of whom were later executed in July 2022 for anti-coup activities. Myanmar Nationality Law
The Nationality law of Myanmar currently recognises three categories of citizens, namely citizen, associate citizen and naturalised citizen, according to the 1982 Citizenship Law. Citizens, as defined by the 1947 Constitution, are persons who belong to an "indigenous race", have a grandparent from an "indigenous race", are children of citizens, or lived in British Burma prior to 1942. The Army Officers Training School, Bahtoo ( my, တပ်မတော်(ကြည်း) ဗိုလ်သင်တန်းကျောင်း (ဗထူး), abbreviated OTS) is an officer candidate school for the Myanmar Army located in Bahtoo Station, Shan State, Myanmar. The Commandant of the OTS is Brigadier General Myo Zaw Win (BC - 27081). OTS trains army warrant officers and non-commissioned officers, and is one of the country's main institutions for training army officers, along with the Defence Services Academy (DSA). The State Administration Council ( my, နိုင်ငံတော်စီမံအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးကောင်စီ; abbreviated SAC or နစက) is the military junta currently governing Myanmar, established by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing following the February 2021 coup d'état. 2021 Myanmar Coup D'état
A coup d'état in Myanmar began on the morning of 1 February 2021, when democratically elected members of the country's ruling party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), were deposed by the Tatmadaw—Myanmar's military—which then vested power in a military junta. Kyaw Min Yu
Kyaw Min Yu ( my, ကျော်မင်းယု; also known as Ko Jimmy; 13 February 1969 – 23 July 2022) was a Burmese writer, political prisoner, and a member of the 88 Generation Students Group. He was executed in July 2022 after being sentenced to death for activism against the junta that seized power in a coup in 2021. Zayar Thaw
Zayar Thaw ( , also called U Phyo Zayar Thaw or Zeya Thaw; 26 March 1981 – 23 July 2022) was a Burmese politician and hip-hop artist who was detained for the perceived anti-government messages of his lyrics. Amnesty International named him a prisoner of conscience. He was a member of Pyithu Hluttaw, the Lower House of the Burmese parliament. He, along with opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi, were elected to the lower house on 1 April 2012. In November 2021 he was arrested by the Myanmar military junta and was sentenced to death in January 2022. In June 2022, the junta announced that his execution was imminent. Soe Htut ( my, စိုးထွဋ်; born 29 March 1961) is a Burmese military officer and incumbent Minister for Home Affairs of Myanmar. Soe Htut is a career soldier, and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant General. Early life and education Soe Htut was born to an army general, Brigadier General Lun Maung, and his wife Shwe Thet, in Mandalay, Burma (now Myanmar). He graduated from the 64th intake of the Officer Training School, and received a bachelor's degree in physics, and a master's degree in defence studies.
