Tipperary Venue
The Tipperary Venue was a proposed super casino development on a projected site adjacent to the M8 motorway at Two-Mile Borris, County Tipperary in Ireland. As originally planned, the project proposed the building of an all-weather racecourse and greyhound tracks, equestrian centre, 500 room hotel, eighteen hole golf course, 15,000 capacity "underground entertainment" venue, heliport, a replica of the White House and a " Las Vegas Strip-style" casino. While, as of 2015, the project's developers were reportedly "continuing to purchase land and properties in order to develop a casino", as of 2017 it was reported that Ireland's gambling legislation did not support the proposed development. It is located in the civil parish of the same name in the barony of Eliogarty and in the ecclesiastical parish of Thurles (Roman Catholic parish), Thurles. An Taisce – The National Trust for Ireland (; meaning "the store" or "the treasury"), established in June 1948, is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) active in the areas of the environment and built heritage in Ireland. Planning permission or developmental approval refers to the approval needed for construction or expansion (including significant renovation), and sometimes for demolition, in some jurisdictions. It is usually given in the form of a building permit (or construction permit). House building permits, for example, are subject to Building codes.
