Tindastóll Men's Basketball
The Tindastóll men's basketball team, commonly known as Tindastóll, is the men's basketball department of the Ungmennafélagið Tindastóll sport club. It is based in Sauðárkrókur, Iceland. As of the 2018–19 season it played in Úrvalsdeild karla. In 2015 and 2018, it was the runner up to the Icelandic national championship. On January 13, 2018, the club won its first major title when it beat KR in the Icelandic Basketball Cup finals. On 30 September 2018, Tindastóll defeated KR in the Icelandic Super Cup, 103-72. Brynjar Þór Björnsson
Brynjar Þór Björnsson (born 11 July 1988) is an Icelandic basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national team. He has won the Icelandic championship eight times and the Icelandic Basketball Cup three times with KR and is the club's all-time leader in scoring and games played. Playing career Early career In the fifth and deciding game of the 2007 Úrvalsdeild Finals against Snæfell, Brynjar made a three-point shot with 3 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 68–68 and send it to overtime. KR prevailed in overtime, winning the game 76–74 and its tenth national championship. College Brynjar played for Francis Marion University from 2008 to 2009. He left the school in January 2009. Pétur Guðmundsson (basketball)
Pétur Karl Guðmundsson (born 30 October 1958) is an Icelandic former professional basketball player and coach from Reykjavík. Standing 2.18 m (7'2"), weighing 118 kg (260 lb) and playing the center (basketball), center position, Pétur was the first Icelander and one of the first European players ever to play in National Basketball Association (NBA). He was also a member of the Iceland men's national basketball team, Icelandic national basketball team from 1978 to 1992 but missed several years due to FIBA rules banning professional players from playing for national teams. Páll Kolbeinsson
Páll Hermann Kolbeinsson (born 17 April 1964) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach, and a former member of the Icelandic national team. He was named the Icelandic Basketball Player of the Year and Úrvalsdeild Domestic Player of the Year in 1990, the same year he won the Icelandic championship with KR. He played college basketball for University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Coaching career Páll was hired as a player-coach for KR in 1990 and guided the team to the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 1991. He later served as a player-coach for Tindastóll. In 2010, he was hired as the head coach of KR. Michael Ojo (basketball, Born 1989)
Michael Adetokunbo Ojo (born June 28, 1989) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Lehigh Mountain Hawks before playing pro ball in Europe. Professional career In 2011, Ojo signed with the Plymouth Raiders of the British Basketball League and played there for two seasons. He helped the team make it to the BBL Cup and Trophy finals and in his final season, he averaged 22.5 points per game. Mamadou Samb Mbaye (born 31 December 1989) is a Senegalese-Spanish professional basketball player who last played for Real Betis Energía Plus of the LEB Oro. Kristinn Geir Friðriksson (born 23 December 1971) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach. He is currently a basketball analyst for '' Domino's Körfuboltakvöld'' (English: Domino's Basketball Night) on Stöð 2 Sport. Kári Marísson
Kári Marísson (born 20 November 1951) is an Icelandic former multi-sport athlete and basketball coach. He played and coached basketball for several decades and was the oldest player to have played in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla, at the age of 49 years, until the record was broken by Baldur Þorleifsson in 2015. Taiwo Hassan Badmus (born 3 July 1993) is a British/Irish professional basketball player. Eyjólfur Gjafar Sverrisson (born 3 August 1968) is an Icelandic former footballer and former coach of the Iceland national football team. He is the father of Hólmar Örn Eyjólfsson, also a professional footballer. David Aliu
David Aliu (born 13 March 1981) is a British retired professional basketball player. He last played for Cheshire Phoenix in the British Basketball League. Aliu was part of the Mersey Tigers' treble-winning 2010/11 team, and in November 2011, became the Tigers' record points scorer in the BBL.
