Papa Roach
Papa Roach is an American rock band from Vacaville, California, formed in 1993. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Jacoby Shaddix, guitarist Jerry Horton, drummer Dave Buckner, bassist Will James, and trombonist Ben Luther. After two EPs, James left and was replaced by Tobin Esperance. The band independently released two more EPs before signing with DreamWorks Records in 1999, subsequently releasing the triple-platinum '' Infest'' in 2000, the gold album ''Lovehatetragedy'' in 2002 and the platinum album '' Getting Away with Murder'' in 2004. ''The Paramour Sessions'' is the fifth studio album and fourth major-label by American rock band Papa Roach. It was released on September 12, 2006 through Geffen Records. Following up from their fourth album '' Getting Away with Murder'', the album confirmed the band's move from nu metal to an alternative rock and hard rock sound. ''The Paramour Sessions'' peaked at number 16 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Background The album's name is a reference to Paramour Mansion, where the album was recorded. Like their prior album, '' Getting Away with Murder'', the album continues the band's movement away from nu metal into more of a hard rock sound. Jacoby Dakota Shaddix (born July 28, 1976) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, TV presenter and actor. He is best known as the founding member and the continuous lead singer of the California-based rock band Papa Roach since the band's formation in 1993. Shaddix served as the host of the MTV show ''Scarred (TV series), Scarred'' for the entirety of the show's cycle, presenting both seasons and all 20 episodes of the show, which spanned from April 10 to September 18, 2007. Shaddix would ultimately leave the show due to touring demands with Papa Roach. The name of the show was based on the Papa Roach song "Scars (Papa Roach song), Scars". Howard Benson is an American music producer and multi-instrumentalist. He was nominated for the Producer of the Year Grammy Award in 2007 and 2008. Early life and education Benson was born and raised in a middle-class family in greater Philadelphia, the son of Estelle and Robert Benson. He is of Jewish descent. He began playing keyboards in rock bands at the age of 13. He attended college at Drexel University and studied engineering.
