''Time Between – A Tribute to The Byrds'' is a various artists tribute album consisting of cover versions of songs originally written and recorded by the Los Angeles band The Byrds. It was released in 1989 as an LP and CD by Imaginary Records in the UK and by the Communion Label in the United States. The vinyl LP features a fourteen-song track listing, while the CD edition of the album includes five bonus tracks, bringing the total number of songs to nineteen. Although the compilation did not chart in the U.S. or the UK, Bruce Eder, writing for the Allmusic website, has noted "A superior lineup of contributors helps make ''Time Between: A Tribute to the Byrds'' one of the better homages of its kind." The Barracudas
The Barracudas are an English surf music, surf rock band formed in late 1978. The band's original line-up consisted of Jeremy Gluck (Singing, vocals), Robin Wills (guitar and vocals), Starkie Phillips (Bass guitar, bass and vocals) and Adam Phillips (Drum kit, drums). Before the band recorded its first single, Starkie and Adam Phillips left the band. The band is notable for their 1980 hit single "Summer Fun", which started with an excerpt from a 1960s spoof advertisement for the Plymouth Barracuda campaign. Miracle Legion was an American college rock band formed in 1983 in New Haven, Connecticut. Thin White Rope
Thin White Rope was an American rock band fronted by Guy Kyser and related to the desert rock and Paisley Underground subgenres. The band released five albums. Origins The band was formed in Davis, California, during a period spanning 1981 and 1982. Founding members Guy Kyser and Jozef Becker were in a band called the Les Z Boys in 1981. Becker and Kyser split off during the 1981-1982 period, and posted an ad at Skip's Music seeking a bass player and another guitarist. Roger Kunkel answered the ad, bringing in bass player Kevin Staydohar. The newly formed band played some of the same covers as the Les Z Boys, and also began to introduce original songs by Kyser. Dinosaur Jr. is an American rock band formed in Amherst, Massachusetts, in 1984, originally simply called Dinosaur until legal issues forced a change in name. The band was founded by J Mascis (guitar, vocals, primary songwriter), Lou Barlow (bass, vocals), and Murph (drums). After three albums on independent labels, the band earned a reputation as one of the formative influences on American alternative rock. "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better" is a song by the Los Angeles folk rock band the Byrds, first released in June 1965 on the B-side of the band's second single, "All I Really Want to Do". Despite initially being released as a B-side, the song managed to chart in its own right in the U.S., just outside the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. It was also included on the Byrds' debut album, ''Mr. Tambourine Man''. The song was written by band member Gene Clark, who also sings the lead vocal. Christine Collister (born 28 December 1961) is a Manx folk, blues and jazz singer-songwriter. She was born and grew up on the Isle of Man and first came to public attention in 1986 as the singer of the theme song for the BBC's television adaptation of Fay Weldon's book ''The Life and Loves of a She-Devil''. Richard Thompson (born 3 April 1949) is an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Thompson first gained prominence in the late 1960s as the lead guitarist and songwriter for the folk rock group Fairport Convention, which he had co-founded in 1967. "Here Without You" is a song written by Gene Clark that was first performed on the Byrds' 1965 debut album ''Mr. Tambourine Man''. It was later covered by other artists, including Reigning Sound and Richard Thompson.
