Tim O'Mahony
Timothy O'Mahony (born 13 January 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-back for club side Newtownshandrum and at centre-forward at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. Playing career College O'Mahony first came to prominence as a hurler with C.B.S. Charleville. Having played hurling in every grade during his time at the school, he usually lined out in the forwards on the senior team in the Harty Cup. University During his studies at Mary Immaculate College, O'Mahony was selected for the college's senior hurling team. He was a regular member of the team at various times and won a Fitzgibbon Cup medal as a non-playing substitute in 2017 following a 3-24 to 1-19 defeat of Carlow Institute of Technology. Club O'Mahony joined the Newtownshandrum club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. Newtownshandrum
Newtownshandrum () is a small village in County Cork, Ireland located west of Charleville on the R515 road. The name translates from Irish to mean 'new town of the old ridge'. Historic maps from 1829–1841 and 1897–1913 identify the village as Newtown. Newtownshandrum is within the Dáil constituency of Cork North-West. Education Shandrum National School is a co-educational primary school located in the village. Kerry GAA
The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. It is responsible for Gaelic games in County Kerry, and for the Kerry county teams. The Kerry branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in the year 1888. 2020 Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship
The 2020 Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship was the inaugural staging of the Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship and the 132nd staging overall of a championship for the top-ranking hurling teams in Cork. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 19 November 2019. The championship was scheduled to begin on 17 April 2020, however, it was postponed indefinitely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games. The championship began on 31 July 2020 and ended on 4 October 2020. Imokilly were the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify for the knockout stage after being beaten by University College Cork in the divisional final. Ballyhea were relegated from the championship after being beaten in a playoff by Bishopstown. The 2019 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the 2019 opening round fixtures took place on 15 January 2019. The championship began on 26 March 2019 and ended on 20 October 2019. The final was played at Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, between defending champions Imokilly and Glen Rovers, in what was their first meeting in a final in 70 years.
