Tim Kennaugh
Timothy Craig Kennaugh (born 28 November 1991) is a Manx cycling coach and former racing cyclist. Biography Born in Douglas, Isle of Man, Tim used to have a strong interest in football but Kennaugh was quick to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Peter Kennaugh, he was selected to ride for the British Talent Team in 2007 before becoming a member of British Cyclings Olympic Development Programme. In 2009, he became one of the youngest riders to ever win the Manx National Road Race Championships. On 14 October 2009 it was confirmed that Kennaugh was to become a member of the Olympic Academy. Kennaugh's riding career was cut short due to chronic thyroid disease. Subsequently he remained with his former team Rapha Condor-JLT as a soigneur. Cyclingnews.com is a website providing cycling news and race result owned by Future. History In 1995 Australian Bill Mitchell, a keen cyclist and professor of economics at the University of Newcastle, created the website titled "Bill’s Cycling Racing Results and News" after finding there was a need for fast-breaking news and race results in English-speaking countries. In 1999 Sydney-based publishing company Knapp Communications purchased the website from Mitchell, and in July 2007 they sold it to British publisher Future plc for £2.2m. In July 2014 it was bought by Immediate Media Company, along with the print-only ''Procycling'' magazine. In February 2019, Immediate Media sold its cycling titles back to Future. British National Track Championships
The British National Track Championships are held annually and organised by British Cycling (formerly the British Cycling Federation). The main events are various track cycling disciplines for elite athletes to determine the British national champions. However, competitions are also held in age and disability categories. Until 1994 both amateur and professionals could take part in the 'Open' events, in addition to specific events that were restricted to either. The modern era is considered to have started in 1994 eventually replacing the amateur era. In November 1994, British Cycling moved its headquarters to the National Cycling Centre, Manchester, which held been opened earlier in the year by Princess Anne. Junior Tour Of Wales
The Junior Tour of Wales is an annual cycle race for junior male riders, held around Brynmawr, Blaenau Gwent, Wales. First held in 1981, the race is the final round of the British Cycling Junior Road Series – and as such attracts the best junior racing cyclists from across the UK, as well as elite international junior teams from across Europe and beyond. From 1981 until 1993 the race consisted of three stages held over two days. In 1993 it was expanded to three days and held on the August Bank Holiday for the first time. In 2017 it switched to a four-day format. In recent years the race's final stage has finished on the Tumble: this climb often decides the winner of the race. Steve Jones and Eddie Smart were regular helpers at the Junior Tour of Wales.
