Tim Jordan (baseball)
Timothy Joseph Jordan (February 14, 1879 – September 13, 1949) was a professional baseball player. He was a first baseman over parts of seven seasons with the Washington Senators, New York Highlanders and Brooklyn Superbas. He led the National League and tied for the major league lead in home runs in 1906, becoming the first rookie with a share of the major league home run crown (later joined by Mark McGwire in 1987 and Pete Alonso in 2019) with Brooklyn Brooklyn () is a borough of New York City, coextensive with Kings County, in the U.S. state of New York. First Baseman
A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. Also called first sacker or cornerman, the first baseman is ideally a tall player who throws left-handed and possesses good flexibility and quick reflexes.
