Tillberga IK Bandy
Tillberga IK Bandy, also called ''Tillberga Bandy Västerås'' or ''TB Västerås'', is a Swedish Bandy club playing in the Allsvenskan for the first time in the 2006–07 season. Tillberga IK were founded in 1930 and play their home games at Rocklunda. Tillberga IK have struggled in the Allsvenskan this season finishing bottom of the Norra division and will have a difficult fight to avoid relegation during the Superallsvenskan. Tillberga IK gained promotion in the 2005–06 season by finishing top in the Division One Norra Playoffs. The club has been playing in the top-tier Elitserien on and off for many seasons. Allsvenskan (bandy)
Allsvenskan (literally, "The All Swedish") ( sv, Allsvenskan i bandy) is since the 2007–08 the second highest level of bandy in Sweden and comprises 24 teams in two regional groups. This change was made when Allsvenskan and Elitserien were cancelled and a new top-tier called Elitserien was created. Structure During the first two years, Allsvenskan consisted of three groups with ten teams in each, i.e. a total of 30 teams. The groups were divided geographically, in Allsvenskan Norra (North), Allsvenskan Mellersta (Mid) and Allsvenskan Södra (South). For the third season, 2009–10, Allsvenskan was restructured into two groups, Norra and Södra, with 12 teams each, so there were only 24 teams left in total. Swedish Bandy Association
The Swedish Bandy Association ( sv, Svenska Bandyförbundet) is the governing body of bandy in Sweden. It organizes the bandy leagues, Elitserien and Allsvenskan for men and Damallsvenskan for women, and the men's and women's national teams. It was established in Stockholm on 5 April 1925, and is based in Stockholm, after moving from Katrineholm. It is a founding member of FIB, Federation of International Bandy. Bandy was introduced 1895 in Sweden by all round athlete Clarence von Rosen. He picked the game up during a visit in bandy's home country Great Britain. He started the first bandy club in Sweden, Stockholm Hockeyklubb. First in 1905 bandy was organized within Swedish Ballgame Association and a year later within Swedish Football Association. Per Fosshaug
Per "Pelle" Fosshaug (born 24 February 1965) is a Swedish bandy manager and former bandy player. Fosshaug played in midfield for many clubs in Sweden, as well as for the Sweden national bandy team, for which he made a record 129 appearances between 1994 and 2005. Fosshaug has made 129 appearances for Sweden. Career His career began in the 1982–83 season where he played for second division side Borlänge-Stora Tuna BK. In 1986, he moved to Allsvenskan side Falu BS, where he spent two seasons, followed by another two at IFK Vänersborg. In 1992, he made the move to Västerås SK Bandy, the club which he became most commonly associated with. During his time with Västerås SK, Fosshaug made the majority of his national team appearances. GAIS Bandy
GAIS Bandy is the bandy section of sports club GAIS from Gothenburg. In 1920, GAIS won the Gothenburg district championship, but the club had not had an active bandy department for years when it took up playing bandy again in 2005. GAIS play their home games at Heden in central Gothenburg. GAIS came close to winning their first tournament in 2006 when they lost 6-10 to IFK Kungälv in the final of the Kosa Cup. They hosted one match, Sweden-Russia, at the 2013 Bandy World Championship. ABB Arena is the common name for the two biggest indoor arenas in Västerås, Sweden. Venues Arena Nord ABB Arena Nord is the ice hockey arena and VIK Västerås HK's home arena. 2014–15 Elitserien (bandy)
The 2014–15 Elitserien was the eighth season of the present highest Swedish men's bandy top division, Elitserien. The regular season began on 24 October 2014, and the final was played at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on 14 March 2015. Summary *At the end of the former season, it looked like the fourteen teams in the league would be the same as last season, because no Allsvenskan team was able to win enough games in the qualification series in March 2014. GAIS was qualified for continued play in Elitserien, but made a decision to withdraw in May 2014. Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") ( sv, Elitserien i bandy) is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places.
