Til Sæters
''Til sæters'' (To the Mountain Pastures) is a Norwegian silent comedy film from 1924 directed by Harry Ivarson (his first Norwegian film). He also wrote the screenplay based on Claus Pavels Riis's 1850 musical ''Til Sæters: dramatisk Idyl med Sange'' (To the Mountain Pastures: A Dramatic Idyll with Singing). The plot of the musical was very thin and mostly served as an excuse to link together various dance performances accompanied by well-known Norwegian folk melodies. Ivarson therefore added more people to the story and a little more intrigue, but retained the basic mood of the musical. ''Til sæters'' is an example of the folk romantic film genre that was popular in Norway in the 1920s. Harry Ivarson
Harry Ivarson (September 7, 1892 – 1967) was a Norwegian film director and screenwriter. Ivarson was born in Chicago, the son of the actor William Ivarson and actress Anna Ivarson. In addition to Harry, the couple had a son Wictor (born in 1893) and a daughter Borghild (born in 1895). In 1910 the family lived in Årstad. Ivarson studied film in the United States and Germany. He debuted as a director and screenwriter in Germany in 1923 with the film ''Wenn Männer richten'' under the pseudonym Harry Williams. He continued his career in Norway with the films '' Til sæters'' (1924), '' Fager er lien'' (1925), '' Simen Mustrøens besynderlige opplevelser'' (1926), '' Madame besøker Oslo'' (1927), and ''Den glade enke i Trangvik'' (1927), which was his last silent film. Emmy Worm-Müller
Emmy Helene Worm-Müller (born Emmy Helene Hornemann, May 3, 1875 – August 23, 1950) was a Norwegian actress. Career Worm-Müller starred in some of the earliest Norwegian silent films. Worm-Müller made her debut in 1911 in '' Fattigdommens forbandelse'' and then occasionally appeared in films until the 1940s. Her last film role was in 1942, in Rasmus Breistein's ''Trysil-Knut''. In addition, Worm-Müller was a theater actress engaged with the Oslo New Theater and Trøndelag Theater. Family Worm-Müller was the daughter of Johan Lebrecht Hornemann (1846–1928), an infantry captain in the Trondheim Brigade, and his wife Helene Sophie Thrane (1842–1905). Arne Svendsen
Arne Svendsen (11 December 1884 – 20 November 1958) was a Norwegian songwriter, actor and revue writer. Career Svendsen was born in Fosnes in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. In 1910, he left home and settled in Fredrikstad, where he first worked as a hairdresser and barber. In 1911, he wrote his first revue for the ''Fredrikstad Arbeiderforening'', followed by five new revues annually until 1920. From 1921, Svendsen was associated with Chat Noir, a cabaret and revue theatre in Oslo. He wrote the revue, ''Midt i planeten'' together with Per Kvist in 1922. He also collaborated with song writer Finn Bo (1927–36). From 1937 he worked with teams of various revue writers including Bias Bernhoft, Arild Feldborg and Erik Diesen. Bygdøy
Bygdøy or Bygdø is a peninsula situated on the western side of Oslo, Norway. Administratively, Bygdøy belongs to the borough of Frogner; historically Bygdøy was part of Aker Municipality and became part of Oslo in 1948.
