Tiburones Rojos De Veracruz
Club Deportivo Veracruz, commonly known as Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, was a Mexican professional Association football, football club based in the city of Veracruz, Veracruz, Veracruz. ''El Aston'' was founded in 1943, and played in the Liga MX of Mexico. Their nickname, "Tiburones Rojos", means red sharks. In December 2019, the Mexican Football Federation announced the disaffiliation of Veracruz from Liga MX due to economic debts with first team players, its youth system, and the league. History The club was founded around April 1943 under the name of Club Deportivo Veracruz after two clubs from the city state of Veracruz, Iberia de Córdoba and Veracruz Sporting Club, merged in order to join the Mexican Primera División, Mexican First Division. The Estadio Luis "Pirata" Fuente, named in honour of Luis de la Fuente (Mexican footballer), Luis de la Fuente, a Mexican association football, football star who played in the 1950s. It has a capacity of 28,703 and is located at the seaside in Boca del Río, Veracruz, Boca del Río. It is used mostly for football games and was the home of Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz before dissolving on December 18, 2019. Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo (; born 17 January 1973) is a Mexican politician and former professional footballer who is the current Governor of Morelos under the coalition '' Juntos Haremos Historia''. Alfredo Tena Garduño (born 21 November 1956), also known by his nickname ''Capitán Furia'' ("Captain Fury"), is a Mexican former professional footballer and the current youth academy director for Club América. Fernando Enrique Arce Ruiz (born 24 April 1980) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Arce came out of Club América's youth prospects, but never debuted there. Arce debuted for Irapuato in a game against Toluca on 28 October 2000. Arce played the last eleven minutes and helped preserve the 3-2 win over the ''Choriceros''. Luis Arturo Hernández Carreón (born 22 December 1968) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a striker and is the fourth all-time leading scorer of the Mexico national team with 35 goals, and the joint-highest goalscorer in World Cups. José Adolfo Ríos García (born 11 December 1966) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He won the 1999 U.S. Cup with Mexico. Club career Ríos García made his debut for UNAM in 1985 and remained there until 1990, when he went to play for Veracruz.
