Tianchang () is a sub-prefecture-level city in the east of Anhui province, and is the closest city in the province to the mouth of the Yangtze River. Chuzhou () is a prefecture-level city in eastern Anhui Province, China. It borders the provincial capital of Hefei to the south and southwest, Huainan to the west, Bengbu to the northwest, and the province of Jiangsu to the east. According to the 2020 census, the city of Chuzhou has a registered population of 3,987,054 inhabitants, whom 1,198,719 lived in the built-up (''or metro'') area made of 2 urban districts and now Lai'an county largely being urbanized. Anhui , (; formerly romanized as Anhwei) is a landlocked province of the People's Republic of China, part of the East China region. Its provincial capital and largest city is Hefei. Yizheng
Yizheng () is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, China, with a population of about 600,000 (2007). It borders the prefecture-level divisions of Chuzhou (Anhui) to the north, Nanjing to the west, and Zhenjiang to the south. History Etymology In 1013, the statues of several preceding emperors of the Song were cast in Jian'an () military prefecture. Thus, the region was changed into Zhen''zhou'' (Zhen prefecture, ). Later, with the emperor's favor, a Taoist temple named Yizhen () was also built, at where the former furnace was situated. Both zhen and yizhen mean "lifelikeness" in Chinese. The prefecture was named after the temple in 1117. Yizhen county was renamed Yizheng in 1723, because the homophone "zhen()" as a part of the Yongzheng Emperor's Chinese name was deemed to be ineffable. Sub-prefecture-level City
A sub-prefectural municipality (), sub-prefectural city, or vice-prefectural municipality, is an unofficial designation for a type of administrative division of China. A sub-prefectural city is officially considered to be a county-level city, but it has more power ''de facto'' because the cadres assigned to its government are one half-level higher in rank than those of an "ordinary" county-level city—though still lower than those of a prefecture-level city. While county-level cities are under the administrative jurisdiction of prefecture-level divisions, sub-prefectural cities are often (but not always) administered directly by the provincial government, with no intervening prefecture level administration.
