Thudiyalur Railway Station
Thudiyalur railway station is a suburban railway station of Coimbatore. It is a station in between Coimbatore and Mettupalayam. The station was reopened by Railway minister suresh prabhu. Recently Thudiyalur railway station building was refurbished and the station started functioning from July 3, 2017 onwards. Thudiyalur railway station is just 800 meter from Thudiyalur bus stand. There is huge acres of land available for railways here, earlier CRPF Goodshed is planned near the railway station. Administration The station is operated by the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways and comes under the Salem railway division. Thudiyalur
Thudiyalur is a neighborhood in the city of Coimbatore, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is about north of Town Hall. Thudiyalur is one of the fast-growing neighbourhoods of Coimbatore, due to the presence of many industries and IT companies in Saravanampatti. Earlier, this place was known as Thiruthudisaiampathy, later it was named Thudiyalur. It houses the Regional Transport Office of Coimbatore North (TN-38). Coimbatore, also spelt as Koyamputhur (), sometimes shortened as Kovai (), is one of the major metropolitan cities in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is a federal police organisation in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India. Salem division is one of the six divisions of Southern Railway zone. Its headquarters is at Salem, Tamil Nadu. History Salem Railway Division is the newest division of the Southern Railway Zone of Indian Railways. It was carved out of the Palakkad railway division and Tiruchirappalli railway division. Mettupalayam is a municipality town and taluk of the Coimbatore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the second largest town in the Coimbatore District. MEMU
On Indian Railways, the MEMUs are electric multiple unit (EMU) trains that serve short and medium-distance routes in India, as compared to normal EMU trains that connect urban and suburban areas. The acronym stands for Mainline Electric Multiple Unit. History Indian Railways (IR) started MEMU service on Asansol – Adra section on 15 July 1995 and on Kharagpur – Tata section on 22 July 1995. Delhi-Panipat MEMU service started on 27 September 1995. Raipur–Durg–Bhatapara–Raipur–Bilaspur MEMU service started on 17 October 1995. Arakkonam-Jolarpettai MEMU service on 22 May 2000. Mettupalayam Railway Station
Mettupalayam railway station is a train station located in Mettupalayam, a suburb of Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu, India. Its railway code is MTP. It is one of the important railway stations located in the Coimbatore District, because the Nilgiri Mountain Railway to the hill station of Ooty starts from here. It is the connection between the narrow-gauge Nilgiri Mountain Railway and the broad-gauge main network of Indian Railways. Coimbatore Junction railway station, also known as Kovai Junction railway station (station code: CBE), is the primary railway station serving Coimbatore city. History Train service in Coimbatore with construction of the Old_Coimbatore Railway Station at Podanur started on 18 July 1861, upon the construction of the Podanur–Madras line connecting Kerala and the west coast with the rest of India.
