Adrenaline, also known as epinephrine, is a hormone and medication which is involved in regulating visceral functions (e.g., respiration). It appears as a white microcrystalline granule. Adrenaline is normally produced by the adrenal glands and by a small number of neurons in the medulla oblongata. It plays an essential role in the fight-or-flight response by increasing blood flow to muscles, heart output by acting on the SA node, pupil dilation response, and blood sugar level. It does this by binding to alpha and beta receptors. It is found in many animals, including humans, and some single-celled organisms. It has also been isolated from the plant ''Scoparia dulcis'' found in Northern Vietnam. Medical uses As a medication, it is used to treat several conditions, including allergic reaction anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest, and superficial bleeding. The Thrillseeker was a steel roller coaster located at Sea World (Australia), Sea World on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, Queensland, Australia. Designed by S.D.C., the Galaxi model opened to the public in 1982. The ride is now a traveling roller coaster owned by Shorts Amusements of Victoria known as Taipan. History In 1982, Sea World opened the park's first roller coaster, the ''Wild Wave Rollercoaster'', along with the ''Pirate ship (ride), Pirate Ship'' and ''Carousel''. The ''Wild Wave Rollercoaster'' was later renamed to the ''Thrillseeker''. In May 2002, the Thrillseeker was closed and removed from Sea World. ''Thrill Seekers'' (also known as ''The Time Shifters'') is a 1999 science fiction television film directed by Mario Azzopardi and starring Casper Van Dien, Catherine Bell, Julian Richings and Martin Sheen. The film aired on October 17, 1999 on TBS. The film was shot in 1999 from May to June in Hamilton and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Plot Tom Merrick (Van Dien) is a TV reporter filming a live segment on a fire at a power plant. He spots a creepy-looking man (Richings), causing him to move away from his crew. This accidentally saves his life as the crew is killed in the partial collapse of a building. After the accident, Merrick gives up his job as a reporter and begins working for a magazine. Steve Helstrip, known by the stage name The Thrillseekers, is an English DJ and record producer. His debut single was "Synaesthesia", released in 1999. Helstrip has worked under the guises of En Motion, Insigma, Rapid Eye and Hydra. He also works in remixing, having remixed work by Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Timo Maas, Sonique, Chicane, Blank & Jones, and Seb Fontaine. He owns his own record label, 'Adjusted Music'. Career Helstrip started out making trance music while working for the computer games developer Manic Media. Whilst living in Chipping Norton, on the Oxfordshire border, he recorded "Synaesthesia" with a home studio. When released by Neo Records in 1999, the single sold over 12,000 copies on its initial release and was heavily supported by musicians including Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold. Rapid City Thrillers
The Rapid City Thrillers were a semi-professional basketball team in Rapid City, South Dakota, that competed in the Continental Basketball Association beginning in the 1987 season. They were reincarnated in 1998 as an International Basketball Association franchise. One of the many notable players of the team was Keith Smart, who played for the Indiana Hoosiers when they won the NCAA tournament in 1987. The Thrillers had some very notable head coaches in its time. First, Bill Musselman coached the team to three consecutive CBA titles during the 1980s. Musselman then moved to the NBA as coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Later, Flip Saunders coached the Thrillers for a season and later became head coach of the NBA's Washington Wizards. Keith Fowler coached the team during one of their only losing seasons.
