Thomas William Chapple
Thomas William Chapple (February 10, 1853 – 1926) was an Ontario lawyer and political figure. He represented Ontario North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1894 to 1898 as a Liberal member. He was born in Kilkenny, Ireland in 1853, the son of William Chapple, a captain in the British Army. He was educated in London and in Newcastle, Ontario. He was called to the Ontario bar and set up practice in Uxbridge. Chapple was named judge for the Rainy River District Rainy River District is a district and census division in Northwestern Ontario in the Canadian province of Ontario. It was created in 1885. Newcastle is a community in the municipality of Clarington in Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. The community inherits the former name of the present-day municipality which it belongs to. Newcastle is located about 80 km east of Toronto, and about 18 km east of Oshawa and Bowmanville on Highway 401. It is also the southern terminus of Highway 35 and Highway 115. It has been named one of the best small towns in Ontario, by ''Comfort Life'', a website for retirement living in Canada. History Newcastle was incorporated as a town in 1856. It remained a small community until the 1990s, when new residential development began and the population quickly swelled. Newcastle had a jail in the late 1800s. Uxbridge is a township in the Regional Municipality of Durham in south-central Ontario, Canada. Communities The main centre in the township is the namesake community of Uxbridge. James Glendinning
James Glendinning (June 2, 1849 – November 26, 1929) was an Ontario farmer and political figure. He represented Ontario North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Conservative member from 1890 to 1894. He was born in Brock Township, Canada West in 1849 and grew up there. In 1871, he married Elizabeth Doble. Glendinning served on the township council for Brock and was reeve from 1885 to 1890.
